Ok, maybe it is because it won't switch to Open, but I am still getting no departments... I have tried to open things and they still say off.

TheInsaneManiac 05-10-2008 04:17 PM

Edit your usergroup permissions

Jase2 05-10-2008 04:23 PM

TheInsaneManiac is right.

ACP --> Usergroups --> Usergroup Manager

Set permissions for each group individually. That reminds me, I need to put the usergroup permissions in the readme - I totally forgot.

dcw 05-10-2008 04:52 PM

yes I have done that, it doesn't change the department stuff... *sigh*

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/05/21.png

I have switched my departments to on, and they won't stay on.

dancue 05-10-2008 04:52 PM

Not that it's a big deal, but is there any reason why these settings are reset every time we upgrade?

Would be nice to not have to do that.

Again, it's not that big of a deal.

dancue 05-10-2008 04:56 PM

Oh, man...I have to create the departments again.

I should have written them down...:(

Jase2 05-10-2008 04:58 PM

dcw, private message me an admin account with a link to your forums and I'll take a look.

dancue, this is because the permissions are being overwrote and set to the <defaultvalue>. Maybe we can work on an upgrade.php script in the paid version which will keep all your settings intact. We'll see....

Under Department Manager did you select open for department status?

As I said above, I have made sure they were open, and they keep closing, and I am not closing them.

Ok. Jase, when creating a department there is a field to enter a forumid. Will this override the forumid entered in the main settings?

Jase2 05-10-2008 05:08 PM

No, it shouldn't do. But, I'll need Paul to confirm that since he created that and I haven't had time to check it out - coding new features ready for the paid version. :)

dcw 05-10-2008 05:10 PM

Jase I pmed ya :)

codershark 05-10-2008 05:13 PM

Is it possible to include a PM Notification when a new ticket is created ???

Jase2 05-10-2008 05:16 PM

codershark, notfications was discussed here: http://www.paulsonny.com/forum/showthread.php?p=124

I may add a private message notfication feature in a later paid version.

If you want me to log in and check for you please PM details me.

Thanks, Paul.

Cheers Paul. Ive PM'd you the details.

Tom_S 05-10-2008 06:49 PM

It is working great! Thanks for the update Paul :)

Jase2 05-10-2008 07:01 PM

Can all users please continue to report bugs @: www.paulsonny.com

PaulSonny 05-10-2008 10:10 PM

Departments staying closed when asked to open has been fixed and you need to download and upgrade your current installation, this should for you.

Im sorry for the need to lose all settings but its because while it was in Beta I was adding new fields to the tables and upgrading for some reason wasnt adding the new fields to the existing DB.

Thanks, Paul.

You need to reinstall the whole thing. Not just the product. I would suggest uninstalling the product and then reinstalling it and making sure you override all the files when you upload the new ones to the server.

dcw 05-11-2008 05:39 AM

WOOT! Thanks it is working now :)

PaulSonny 05-11-2008 08:14 AM

Glad it working now.

Thanks, Paul.

On another note, MyCart development is going really well.

bornoffire 05-11-2008 09:20 AM

Ok just installed and does show the "Add New Ticket" option in the HelpCenter Navigation box.

Can you please make sure you have set the Usergroup Permissions correctly.

Thanks, Paul.

Jase2 05-11-2008 09:30 AM

ACP --> Usergroups --> Usergroup Manager --> Edit Usergroup --> HelpCenter Permissions --> Can Create Tickets

uberjon 05-11-2008 01:43 PM

is it possible to "force" tickets to private by default? so users can only see tickets they created unless they are staff?

Jase2 05-11-2008 01:56 PM

It is already selected by "default" in the drop down menu. Unless you mean something else?

CloneVince 05-11-2008 02:16 PM

Can we block the access of the helpcenter by groups ?

It would be a great option for me :)

perhaps i have missed it if it is already possible ...

Jase2 05-11-2008 02:39 PM

Isn't this that ? :

ACP --> Usergroups --> Usergroup Manager --> Edit Usergroup --> HelpCenter Permissions

CloneVince 05-11-2008 03:55 PM

Yes but I think one option is needed.

For example, yo can see the page : http://www.guild-heberg.fr/forum/helpcenter.php
But you are unregistered.

I didn't found an option like : Can View HelpCenter Yes / No

Do you see what I mean ?

Jase2 05-11-2008 06:41 PM

Ah, I see what you mean. Unfortunately, the features are locked as we have entered Release Candidate stage. Maybe an option in the paid version.

In paid version .... :down::eek:

Nice job :)

TheSupportForum 05-11-2008 09:26 PM

its a great help, but would like to see an improvement so that, you can report stuff via the forum that you import the helpdesk stuff to instead
also an email integration for this

exetel 05-12-2008 09:13 AM

Jase2,

Your not going to get the market for ppl to pay for this type of mod, they would simply go for Joomla that has the bridge for VB and use the ticket system which already has some of the features you might be working on for the this so called "Pay version" Druple also has a bridge for VB as well and a ticket system... In fact most CMS have some sort of ticket system/bridging options for VB

On top of this customers already pay for VB as it is, what would make customers want to pay for your ticket system mod? when you can get a FREE CMS that already has a ticket system in it and more then likely a much more advance system for FREE?

Regards

Exetel

chaser.nl 05-12-2008 09:16 AM

this looks really nice, will install this as soon as i have the time..

replaces the support forum hack i am using now and looks much better :D

Great work !

baghdad4ever 05-12-2008 09:32 AM

great work

and im waiting gold edition

Tom_S 05-12-2008 09:37 AM

No worries. I looked at Joomla before and re-took a peek. That would be at least a two month setup and customization and I don't have that kind of time right now so I'm good to spend the bucks on this project that is so far outstanding.

baghdad4ever 05-12-2008 09:52 AM

i see strange thing

when i enter as guest

i can see all tickets

even if i choose no permissions in usergroup

so what is that?

danielc2384 05-12-2008 10:04 AM

I cant seem to submit a ticket at all. In helpcenter.php the side colum just has:

HelpCenter
Navigation
View My Tickets

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/05/53.jpg

There is no "Submit a ticket".
