Actually if you look at the share/embed codes it's not that simple.

Barring anything wiggy with the site, the video ID for the page and the source are the same, which is what is ideally what I need. Now, who knows what weird hoops they may make you jump through, but at first glance it looks workable.

Upgraded both AME and using the latest of your definitions - I still can't get Photobucket (and Adultswim) videos to work. :(

Code:

Can't believe I missed that. Thanks, that cleared it right up.

Hi again. Can blip.tv be added ? The links usually look like this: http://blip.tv/play/Acqac435ZA
And the official site is http://blip.tv

Thx in advance !

Link me to some examples that aren't working, if you would.

Looks like they added an extra link option since I updated the definition. Use the Direct Link instead of the Share Link in the meantime. That's the one that embeds. I'll work up a fix on the next update so you can use either one.

Could you give me an example of the Adult Swim videos that didn't work? Looks like it was deleted for some reason.

furst 08-28-2008 04:40 PM

Hey DJ, how exactly does the nonoba.com one work? I post a link to http://nonoba.com/monolith/battle-tank and nothing is embedded.

I tried the Direct link. One worked, one didn't! :)

DJ anyway to embed games from addicting games?

Any reason why you've visited Nonoba with no www in the URL? If that's a common way to get to the site I'll adjust the RegEx to account for that. But it was originally made to include the www. Try putting it in and you'll see.

You gotta give me some samples so I can troubleshoot these things on the next update. Also post some samples of the Adult Swim links that weren't working. Can't fix 'em, if I can't see 'em. :)

Oh, I see what happened there.

I never ever type www any more since most sites have it set up so that it doesn't matter.

Thanks.

DragonMasterNYC 08-30-2008 03:22 PM

OK so I updated yesterday to AME 2.0 and after reinstalling the definitions. Imeem won't post anymore, and in only 1 post out of the few that have Imeem streams in them broke.

Let me get a Grenade ready for DJ he might wanna rip Imeem a new one.

testebr 08-31-2008 10:07 AM

Here is my contribution to the site Xfire.com. I do not have much experience with regex, but I believe that Digital Jedi will update my code if necessary before add to the official list.

MonkYZ 09-01-2008 01:46 AM

Is it possible to add www.220.ro also in the media defintions ?
A sample page for their embedding method: http://www.220.ro/Lenesul_si_wii-105349.html

Also, www.giantbomb.com seems nice. Sample: http://www.giantbomb.com/gamecock-de...gendary/17-34/

DoB Rhapsody 09-01-2008 07:01 AM

Several videos not working.

I'll look into them on the next update cycle and see if I can get them to work.

You've globally disabled Extract destination data. More then 80% of the Master definitions require this enabled in order for your videos to work. If you want to disable Extract destination data for a particular definition, then disable it for that definition only. But if you see a Regular Expression in the Embedding Regexp box, then your likely going to disable the definition entirely.
  • Fileden
There is no definition for Fileden, but I can look into making on on the next update cycle.
  • LongIslandOnline
That's not working because that video is hosted on MySpace. They used to only host their videos on YouTube. If they start splitting their videos between multiple hosting sites, then no definition will be able to cover the site, and you'll have to depend on the permalink from the video hosting site it's from.

Are you sure? There's a global option under Settings that looks like it's turned completely off. I tested all the links in that thread, and other then the two I mentioned, they all embedded and the one's not working all depend on Extract destination data. That's the only reason I can think of why the Amazon one would not be pulling the title.

I'm sure. I just disabled it and re-enabled it. No luck.

Digital Jedi 09-03-2008 12:43 AM

Weird, I've not had that problem with this version of AME. Are you using 2.0 or 2.5?

DoB Rhapsody 09-03-2008 04:28 AM

2.5 but this problem has been happening before i upgraded. Actually, this problem may have started when i moved servers. Are there any features that are not enabled that should be on my server that may be causing this issue?

Digital Jedi 09-03-2008 11:02 AM

Hrm, I remember something in the original description for AME that had to do directly with the Extract destination data setting and how some servers wouldn't allow it. Check the original thread and see if the description is still there.

Hi DJ =]

I have a question, why do all embed videos always come centered ? Can this be disabled ? all videos are becoming in the center of the thread

Vitaly 09-04-2008 05:46 AM

rutube.ru
video.mail.ru

Please, add to common pack.

Style I suppose. They look wonky with text right beside them if uncentered. Depending on the version, you can edit the AME templates that came with it, or your using the older one you just edit the replacement HTML

No problems. Feel free to use & modify those sources as you wish, if you like to improve it. Or send me comments to PM, I'll forward to my programmer.

I've noticed, that AME 2.5 is coming, so posted XML without agressive testing, to keep better maintainability.

madscientist06 09-05-2008 02:07 AM

Hey DJ,

I'm having a problem with the EA Sportsworld definition. It's not working. EASW has been upgraded for 09. That may the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

MonkYZ 09-05-2008 06:23 AM

Digital Jedi, do you think it's possible for youtube to use the "high quality" settings ? Even if the user doesn't use the right link, to be added automatically ? Or maybe optional ?

I understood the added code for high quality is the following one:
Code:

&ap=%2526fmt%3D18
Thanks !

madscientist06 09-05-2008 09:06 AM

I think for youtube, it already does. At least from my testing of it.

Nikoo 09-05-2008 10:33 AM

Hi, I wonder how this works:
Quote:

Local Hosted Videos
For videos uploaded to your site, you need these Media Definitions. These XML files need to be edited, either in the AME CP or in an HTML Editor. Look for YOUR_SITE_NAME_HERE and change it to the domain name of your site. Do not include .com, .net, .de, .co.uk or anything like that. So, for example, if your site is www.cogonline.net, then you'd change YOUR_SITE_NAME_HERE to cogonline. This DOES NOT embed attachments.

DIVX (.DIVX Extentions)
MP3 (.MP3 Extentions)
QuickTime (.MOV Extentions)
RealMedia (.RM & .RAM Extentions)
Flash (.SWF Extentions)
Windows Media Videos (.WMV Extention)
If i want to add a flash video, what should i do? just past the address where the video is located in my site or?

for example: http://www.xxxx.com/videos/video1.flv??? (<--- fake adress)help!!!

Yeah, 2.5 is going to need different definitions, so I'm thinking I'll need a new thread for that one, as I'm not sure the the new version will run on 3.6.

Yes, someone pointed out the new code to me not too long ago and I added it in a previous update. It will look for the higher res one, and if it doesn't exist, it will just play the existing version.

Yes, they're just like the other definitions. You just post the location of the file. They're basically just personal definitions for media hosted on your site only.

The Geek 09-05-2008 02:17 PM

Hey DJ, have you tested just doing a mass search/replace on width="xxx" and height="xxx" (and other variations) on the xml files? Should be pretty easy (he says!). But I agree a new thread should be made for when you do.

Thanks!

The Geek 09-05-2008 02:18 PM

oh, as an FYI.. 2.5 SHOULD create keys for you on first import. They may not be ideal, but it will do most of the work for you.

So....

Export definitions, search and replace on the export file, import, export again (to get default keys) and tweak keys where needed :)

madscientist06 09-05-2008 09:32 PM

Thanks for the offer of assistance.

The new embed code for EASW is:

    </object>

Now, I have tried and tried to edit the code, but I'm shooting in the dark here and no matter what I do, the same video displays even if I change the file name.
