It's not a tournament game, players can come and go as they please.

I think he is thinking no-limit tournament games?

Not sure....here's what he's said now.

"I'm talking about whether there's a required number of players (other than two) to start a game, and people leaving during the game before they're out."

Apologies for being a piggy in the middle here...I don't know much about the game myself so I'm a bit stuck. :D

Andrew Green 10-13-2007 10:52 PM

Cash is the same as what is used in the other games. A hand can start anytime there is two or more people in there, and will be player with whatever number (2 or more) are in there. If someone leaves, then they leave. This is not the tournament variation that gets shown on TV where everyone starts with a set amount and plays until they are out and one person is left.

Limit variation:

Hornstar 10-13-2007 10:59 PM

I will be using another cash system soon, so this is not that important for me when I do, however for those who are using the casino cash, maybe an option to turn off the earning of casino cash in certain forums, because currently my spam section has come alive with hundreds of spammers spamming for casino cash lol.

Apparently that explains it just fine...thanks Andrew. :D

I have no idea how to play but I'm there now. Why do the cards blink a little bit?

SBlueman 10-14-2007 12:20 AM

Whoops....I think I deleted my confirmation email....

Captain Kirk76 10-14-2007 12:20 AM

Do you have plans for adding any more games to this Casino, it's a very nice Mod, but I feel it could be so much better if it had more things to do :)

I was there but there was no other players. :erm:
I?ll be back later!
Looks good so far!

Hornstar 10-14-2007 08:22 AM

Im there now, is it ajax based so I will know when someone enters?

FreeFall1 10-14-2007 08:50 AM

I got it installed and it all seems fine, cheers, is there anyway i can change the currency to £ instead of the $

evesve 10-14-2007 09:17 AM

Something for the future:

This woud be the perfect board for learning Texas Holden.
that means that we should need 2 separate table.
One for your "real" money/points and
one for training.

A button for "Leave table"?

Choose my own place (seems to be automatic..)

Hornstar 10-14-2007 09:29 AM

Do you think this could be an idea for the future. Have a tournament texas hold'em table, where the player needs to pay x amount of points to enter, and then the winner gets all the points at the end. Anyone who leaves the table will forfeit their points. Once the table reaches x people the game begins. Do you think something like that could be done?

Richard1964 10-14-2007 10:04 AM

Regarding the Texas Hold-em.

Just played a few games with hornstar1337 and evesve.

The FIRST game we played didn't payout! The game played OK, just nobody won :D

We tried refreshing the page, and the game reset to a new game. The game we were playing was lost. However, we tried refreshing the page again and it worked fine. So perhaps the page refresh wasn't the problem? While we were chatting, the game reset. So we guessed that it might be caused by a timeout. If nobody bets/plays for a certain period of time the game ends/resets?

At one point, someone folded... but next time around they were back in the game. So might be a small bug there too.

All in all a superb addition to this Add-On that worked very well... and hell is it addictive :D

I can't wait till I get this on my site. The guys are gonna LOVE it. OK, gotta go click MOTM now.

Keep up the great work Andrew, you are doing a fantastic job with this.

Mark.B 10-14-2007 10:06 AM

One matter that I think does need sorting on the casino in general is the time zones....I'm having nightmares with the sports betting pool getting events to close at the right time since it doesn't grab the vB timezone settings.

I amended the code in the sportspool file to show vbtime to members but in the admin panel I haven't managed to do this, so getting the times to tally is a nightmare and events often close at the wrong time.

It's especially hard as you cannot easily amend an event once created, I am having to alter the timestamp via phpmyadmin using a Unix timestamp generator.

The lottery has the same problem...ours is always drawn at 3amUK time which is obviously after most people have gone to bed. I tried to amend that but made something of a mess of it.

That sounds like a great idea, so count me as a vote for that too. It would also be handy if we could perhaps make it so that only certain members (perhaps a particular group) could join the Tournament? That we we could have organised games etc.

Oops, am I thinking out loud again ;)

This can be VERY big!

It was very fun to test it!
A few bugs but I am sure Andrew will fix them! ;)

Do you have any beta-testers on other forums? :D

SLY LS1 10-14-2007 01:09 PM

Super great Mod Andrew.... just one problem.. some of my members are addicted :D

Andrew Green 10-14-2007 04:19 PM

I think most / all of the issues that where there are now resolved, just needs some testing to figure out if I missed anything.

Will do.

Andrew Green 10-14-2007 08:16 PM

.31 is up, with texas hold'em.

Other games are pretty stable, and so far this one is too. But still consider it a Beta :)

Let me know how it goes.

FreeFall1 10-14-2007 08:38 PM

it installed ok but the casino setting in admincp seemed to have gone, i overwrote the old version

Andrew Green 10-14-2007 08:40 PM

what do you mean by gone? the options are not there at all?

If that is the case can you try this:

edit /includes/xml/cpnav_casino.xml

and change

<text>Texas Hold'em Setup</text>

too

<text>Texas Hold em Setup</text>

could just be the apostrophe...

Mark.B 10-14-2007 08:55 PM

I seem to be struggling to make it load....casino.php?do=texasholdem is just going to the main casino index, as if it doesn't recognise the location.

I'm still playing about to see if there's anything obvious I've missed...

FreeFall1 10-14-2007 08:57 PM

hmm, i see slots have changed, but now 2 cherries requires left to right. I'd really like to have it the old way, can you at least have a setting for that?

Thanks

Got it...

casino.php is missing this....

Find:
Code:

else if($_GET['do']=='slots')
        {
                require_once('casino/slots.php');
                exit();
        }

Add after....

Code:

else if($_GET['do']=='texasholdem')
                {
                        require_once('casino/texasholdem.php');
                        exit();
        }

I've not tried this latest update yet but I am having multiple reports from people saying poker has been freezing (just staying on "loading") on them and one person said blackjack did. I looked in my error log and found this in relative time to the reports.
