does not work. it will show a link to the forum in witch the thread is located, not the thread itself.

modification of thempate forumhome_lastpostby is useless, because there will be a redirection anyway. If you do this you just have a rewritten url redirecting to another rewritten (both having parameters). I don't see an advantage doing the modification that is sugested for this template.

if you use "go to the last posting" you will be redirected to a url like this
http://www.yourforum.com/forum/your-title-t123.html?p=470529#post470529
though the last posting might not be on page 1 the url looks like it was page one. If the last posting was on page 3 the url should be
http://www.yourforum.com/forum/your-title-t123p3.html#post470529

on online.php - if a user is currently seeing a thread in the archive, the url has no keywords and two slashes, like
http://www.yourforum.com/forum/archive//t-15828.html

"Use Zoints Archive Navigation?" -> when i use this feature, no navigation shows up at all.

I have that issue /w last posting after installation Zoints SEO .

Also there is an issue /w WYSIWYG editor - preview or editing
a post and bb code php included gets a mess.

By now I needed to uninstall this hack completely :(

Did Somebody fix the results written in quoted posting of nocte ?
(running vB 3.6.4, CMPS 2.2.1, PhotoPost Pro 5.5, iBProArcade 2.5.7)

Thx for advise.

Pre-installation question:
With the above warning, I have to ask, Is this modification easily uninstalled in-case for some reason we need to uninstall it?

Also will you be developing newer version for each VBulletin upgrade.
I'm kind of weary when it comes to installing larger mods like this because of the rate of VBulletin's development.

I am also receiving this error.

vBulletin Version: 3.6.4

ZointsSEO Version: 2.2.2

PHP as CGI. PHP 4.4.4

Rewrite URLs and insert keywords, using mod_rewriteThis requires mod_rewrite support on the web server enabled.

.htaccess placed in forum directory.

RewriteRule ^([a-z0-9_\-]*-(t|p)[0-9]+(p[0-9]+|/index[0-9]*)?\.html)$ showthread.php/$1 [QSA,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(index\.php|\.css) [NC]
RewriteRule ^(archive|sitemap)/(.*)$ $1/index.php/$2 [QSA,L]

Both Pagination methods result in the same error.

"No input file specified."

I am guessing it is an .htaccess rewrite rule which is not friendly with PHP over CGI.

Yep, placing it on another server with the exact same setup but PHP as a module works fine.

SEO options > Setting > click 'save' :( :( :(

what is problem in picture?

PS: I'm sorry. I dont speak english enough :(

solokron 12-29-2006 07:48 PM

Not acceptable 406 errors are sometimes indicative of a mod_security rule affecting the request.

You also want to be sure the file is uploaded fully and in the correct file mode.

exactly my thoughts aswell, it would be desastrous if google completely spidered your site with 200.000 urls, and then it breaks and renders every single url as 404.
thats why i havent installed it aswell

solokron 01-08-2007 12:08 PM

If that is ever the case just throw in some mod rewrite rules.

i have a problem...
vBSeo working on forum. But when you set up the Zoints it says : "No input File". I don't understand. It isn't result of mod_rewrite because vBSeo is working. Please help me :)

Why in the world are you using two SEO mods? Delete one and use the other (I mean completely delete one. Do not use the .htaccess from vbseo for ZointsSEO)

You are just asking for problems.

Amenadiel 02-05-2007 02:50 AM

I'm experiencing an odd problem when trying to submit a thread to user controlled sites like Digg, Meneame or Pligg based ones.

When I activate 301 redirect these sites take forever to accept the URL and if they do, they say they cannot retrieve the title due to a "414 Request-URI Too Large" error or a "403 forbidden", but usually those user content engines just reject the URL or think forever.

Of course, I can just deactivate 301 redirect but still troubles me because I had this redirection on without problems until a couple of weeks ago, and besides, these engines use remote voting buttons which detect how many votes a story has based on the URL... without 301 redirect the URL of a certain thread can be very variable:

http://www.chilehardware.com/foro/ac...ra-t60955.html
http://www.chilehardware.com/foro/topic-t60955.html
http://www.chilehardware.com/foro/sh...ad.php?t=60955

etc etc...

Omerr 02-10-2007 05:06 PM

Hi guys.
I'm sorry, but I don't get something. Is the SEO system free to use? In your website it says 160$, but here it's available. Any explanation?
Thanks!

da420 02-10-2007 05:15 PM

Zoints is free, and has never cost any money to my knowledge. You may be thinking about vBSEO...

vBSEO doesn't have any demo or limited version. You downloaded illegal version of vBSEO from a server or a warez board. I strongly advise you to contact vBSEO team and report them about where you downloaded the nulled version.

Omerr 02-10-2007 07:18 PM

da420, thanks for your response. I got confused with vBSEO indeed.

Omerr 02-11-2007 01:38 PM

OK guys, I have just finished installing and everything seems to work great!
HOWEVER, I still can't find myself in google, even if I insert my own domain!

My website's address is www.freehelp.co.il. And it's in Hebrew, so don't panic when you see the fonts. :)

Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Omer.

project-Buckfas 02-11-2007 02:21 PM

You need to submitt your site to google

http://www.google.com/addurl/

It's not an instantaneous thing - it takes time to get indexed in any search engine. Wait a few months. On the net, patience is the key.

Use the site:freehelp.co.il query to get an idea of how many and which pages Google has indexed. There are similar queries you can use for Yahoo and MSN.

You don't need to do this normally but it won't hurt,

Hello Lizard King ;

I have installed vbseo 2.4.0 i thought it was trial version but it was an illegal version so i unistalled the illegal version as fast as i can and i complaint the site that i had the illegal version.

Thanks.

and also i'm using zoints right now and i'm happy :p Thanks Zoints...

djbaxter 02-11-2007 06:39 PM

I can't see any reason why anybody would want both Zoints SEO and vBSEO installed at the same time in any case.

Ok I see there isn't an answer for my question, but I have another clue. I found this site which allows a webmaster to see a page rendered in different browsers:

http://browsershots.org/

When I enter the SEOed URL for one of my forum news:

http://www.chilehardware.com/foro/ub...re-t62423.html

I get the message:

Your request has been redirected. The server said '301 Moved permanently'. Please try again.

Ok, so the 301 redirection itself would be the problem... so we'll have to see another way to redirect normal URL to SEOed ones.

Amenadiel 02-12-2007 06:12 PM

<font size="3">EDIT: 5 hours later</font>

I found out that the problem was in the plugin showthread_getinfo

For some odd reason, the line

if ($request_uri != $supposed_uri)

was always true, so even the SEOed URL were being 301 redirected.

I inserted a few debug lines and found out that $request_uri resulted in an empty string... WTF, perhaps that's because I have register_globals off.

Anyway, I replaced the $request_uri for the original command $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] and everything works fine now.

Could you explain the difference between "PHP over CGI" and "PHP as a module"?

When I select "Rewrite URLs and insert keywords", I get "No input file specified."
When I select "Rewrite URLs and insert keywords, mod_rewrite option", I get a "Page not found" error.

I have noticed that the forum dir is not listed in the link with the mod_rewrite option.

I am running PHP 4.3.11 on a Linux Apache (cgi-fcgi) server. Is it possible that I am missing a MIME type in my .htaccess?
