Great tool!
IS there a possibility to sort the sub forums on an alphabetic way aswell?

It's easier to go to Forum Manager and update display order.

Still a lot of people request this. Going to the Forum Manager and update display order is not an option, since that would mess up the way sub forums look when looking at them in forumdisplay.php

How can you hide the Subforum list for certain forums? Is it the 'Leave alone sub-forums in these forums (comma separated ID list)' option? Because I've tried putting the Forum ID in (for example, '3') but it's not working.

Same here.

The subforum "leave alone" thing makes your subforums on the index still appear, yet not in collums.

Also - is it normal that private forums normally not visible for regular members occur after enabling this hack?

Thanks in advance!

yea, seems like what it does is just remove the coloum setting but instead displays the sub forums in a line.. so I think there should be a few additions or changes..

1. Being to have an option to totally remove the sub-forum list for any given forum.

2. To rename the current option from "Leave alone" the name doesn't really suit the setting.. should be "remove column settings from these forums:"

really great, ty!

mri_mohammad 11-11-2007 03:48 PM

not work :(

Fungsten 11-11-2007 06:06 PM

I noticed that my Forum Home has the forums stretched out beyond the page. Is anyone else having this?

On Edit:

I set the columns back to three and it fits within the home forum. Is it possible to have the hack automatically fit the home forum without changing the settings like like that?

This is a fab hack, but I've just had to revert back to the original release as even set to 2 columns it stretched my forum front page display :(

Are you using Firefox? I think on my boards the members with the issue are FF users.

Ruthierhyme 11-12-2007 08:11 PM

No I use ie7 .. but did check with FF - it was the same .... will stick with the original hack .. not keen on messing with technology too much :D lol

halkum 11-13-2007 06:45 AM

I like this mod! But I have a question

I would like to order my 'child forums' inside one of the 'parent forums' by date posted. To show the latest with activity at top, and the least active at the bottom. Can this mod do that, or do you know how to pull that off. We're only talking about one Parent Forum needing this (With like 20 childs) btw.

Some of my users are having that problem also with IE7.

SuperD 11-15-2007 05:09 AM

Is there any way to hide Subforums from appearing inside the Parent Forum.

Thanks for the Hack

AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> Forum Listings Display Options

You will need to manipulate the settings for Depth of Forums - Forum Display and/or Depth of Sub-Forums to get the right look.

Not sure if it has something to do with my forum being a fixed width rather than browser related .. will keep an eye out for a possible solution.

how To Put Subforums' Subforums Into Columns after going into a Subforum section?

Scooterpig 12-12-2007 07:53 AM

Well this is exactly what I need but unfortunately it stuffs my home page up and I have no idea why..:(

I have 10 sub-forums for 1 particular forum, but when I install this hack, all it does is stretch those sub-forums into 1 single line. I have changed settings and it still keeps them all in a single line.

Any suggestions please?

Thank you.

SBlueman 12-12-2007 08:08 AM

Check the second option in the adminCP settings "Number of columns to arrange sub-forums into".

realy thank you

MotMann 12-12-2007 09:37 PM

I told the question again the 5 time. I have the same Problem, that the Subforums are not in one Row.
In the older Version, there was a hack for that. But i can't found it again...
any idea?

siliconfinance 12-15-2007 12:17 AM

Is there any way to have the latest active thread displayed for subforums as they are for forums?

I use the single column display and it would be very cool to have the latest active thread listed to the right of the subforum:

Subforum - Latest Active Thread

siliconfinance 12-16-2007 01:26 PM

Also, is there any way to add some text after the subforum like this:

Subforum [My manually entered text goes here]
Subforum [My manually entered text goes here]
Subforum [My manually entered text goes here]
Subforum [My manually entered text goes here]

siliconfinance 12-22-2007 07:50 AM

I installed on one of my forums and it shows up to me only when I as the admin is logged in, but when I logged out I see the old view. When I log in as a registered member, then and only then do they see the changes. Guests do not.

ukcobra 12-22-2007 04:09 PM

Working eventually, was changing the wrong settings. In order to get it to work, I had to ensure 'Forum Display Listing Options' were :

Depth of Forums - Forum Home : Set to 1
Depth of Forums - Forum Display : Set to 2
Depth of Sub-Forums : Set to 1

Then everything worked as expected.

Nice hack.

Scooterpig 12-24-2007 01:57 AM

Well I'm still stuck and can't away from the 1 single line when I use this..:(

Cyb any chance when ya free you could take a look for me please?

ukcobra 12-24-2007 07:18 AM

Can you send me a screenshot of your Display Options change ?

I had the same problem as you for about an hour until I tried a number of different modifications to the Option setup.

If it helps, I could take some screenshots of my setup, and post them here.

xcesiv 12-24-2007 11:02 AM

how would i make the sub forums a specific distance appart. I want to run 2 or 3 colums, but when running 3 it looks messy on the sections we only have 2 sub forums
