Awesome work Erwin.

If I might make a suggestion. Any possibility to having a ACP portion of this? Kinda of like the Arcade hack where you can add/remove the flash games in the ACP and they have their own page to display it on. This way the admin does not have to create a page or make a link to put it on his/her site.

I've managed to alter the z-index of the popup menu - however it doesn't impact on the Flash issue ...

On a side note, here's another funny bit of code - look out for e_by_gum LOL

Open clientscript/vbulletin_menu.js, find:

                popupobj.style.display = "none";

                popupobj.style.position = "absolute";

                popupobj.style.left = "0px";

                popupobj.style.top = "0px";

                popupobj.onclick = e_by_gum;

Replace with:

                popupobj.style.position = "absolute";

                popupobj.style.zIndex = "999";

                popupobj.style.left = "0px";

However, even setting the z-index value to 999 (or 9999999 to be ove the top), the popup menu still loads behind the Flash games ...

Belay that "Sorry" - I found it! :)

Found the solution on DevShed - you need <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> in your object definition, and in your embed tag, add wmode="transparent" and you should find your menu's over the top of your Flash movies :)

Note: there are three instances of the Flash call in the arcade_play template, so be warned ;)

Some Flash movies will misbehave in this state - in that they need tohave explicit backgrounds in this scenario or they will mount on the backdrop of your arcade_play template ... so you may also wanna add a <div style="background-color:black"> wrapper round your Flash call as well - as flash movies default to a black background if they don't already have a explicit backdrop.

Great hack... so simple but yet so useful, is it possible to have external swf's though? i.e. a swf on a diffrent server, diffrent domain?

Thanks so much on the great hack. Could someone please tell me how I can change the persmissions for this page?

I created a flash game sometime ago , you guys can save it from this link and upload it to your game collection if you wish!
