User CP edit question

From an old modification where you could give members the option of having avatars display the way they did in vBulletin 2, I have a dropdown in my current installation that I can't figure out how to get rid of:

In "Thread Display Options", I have this:

Display Type
Display avatars at the top of left of messages? [drop down]

How can I get rid of this?
