I'm not sure what plugins people are useing, and there seems to be many to choose from. Flash chat with the "who's in chat" plugin is a great way to meet your members, and also to get people to post more, or explain their posts with ease.

Some others that I've seen that I like are:

Welcome Headers for new members (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=99579)

Auto PM to new members (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=91729&highlight=cool)

I like to use this one for google ads with a conditional that makes it show only for people that come in from google and unregisterd users. (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=91888&highlight=cool)

Another must for Mods is an rss reader with an rss feed for new threads. A plugin that I would like to see would be a customizable RSS feed for certian user groups. This would allow you to add trouble makers to a usergroup and be updated with every post they make. You could also add a conditional that says users with less than 10 posts RSS feed. Basically more rss feeds would be nice.

Any other Ideas or Plugins out there? I would like to create a list of 'must haves' for vB 3.5.

1- wrong forum

2- to know if hacks/mods are useful, just take a look at the hacks list and peek the ones with the most installs.

Yep, you can sort the forums by number of installs by clicking on "installs"

vbPortal cant be beat. Many .org mods can just be added with a minor tweak to the code without plugging in, that saves a lot of disabling if you really need to put in a jelsoft support ticket. Add blocks to the many modules that come with it, php html rss banner blocks all out the box. Module pages running out of block space, just copy the base module back into the modules directory with a different folder name and refresh your modules, now you got another page set for more blocks. Makes a CMS portal a jigsaw that goes together any way you like.

And the arcade is a must have for your home dev site, if you lose your conenction for any length of time and need a break but dont want to fire up a real game, well you got your arcade. :D
Its good on the right live sites aswell ;)
