View Full Version : Possible for a 3.5 forum to self moderate?

Hi,

As my license recently expired, I've been considering whether to renew my license and get vB 3.5 or go to another board.

Now, one of the main things I'd like to see from my forum is a hack / addon / extension / plugin (not sure about the way vB 3.5 handles addons) that will allow users to vote that a post gets deleted / moved. If enough votes accumulate, the action will be successful and users would thereby be collectively able to moderate a forum without the need for a moderator.

Another function I'd like to see is the ability for users to 'vote out' another user; once enough votes have accumulated, the user will be banned. This resembles the old reputation system from 3.0.x but the following rules would be implemented:

- A user can only vote against another user once.
- A user may retract a vote.
- Votes will expire after a certain amount of time.
- A user must have a certain reputation / post count / etc. before they can vote against other users.

etc.

Do any such hacks exist for 3.5? If so, I'll probably renew my vB license. I know that a few such hacks exist for other boards.

Thanks.

It dosnt excist for 3.5, yet, as it just came out not so long ago. In a few months more of the hacks people need on there forum will begin to be re-introduced

That doesnt sound so good. Vote a member to be banned? Vote a post to be deleted? LoLz! But, who knows what the world of tomarrow [being vbulletin 4.0x] has for us?
