here is a neat plugin idea:
when a thread is locked by staff memebers, the thread creator would have ONE chance (via a popup?) to post again the the thread defending the original post. Forum staff can then decide to unlock/leave locked the thread.

what if the thread was locked due to a member that isn't the thread starter? What good would it do for the thread starter to have a chance to 'defend' something he/she didn't write?

the title reminded me of something along the lines of mods/users would have to 'vote' on locking a thread ;p
sometimes mods are jumpy... sometimes they arent. Democracy ;p?

Good point - we were thinking it would only be used in cases where say: Person 1 starts a thread then person 2-15 call person 1 out on the post, and tool on him/her. Thread gets locked by a mod. Then person 1 gets the 1 chance to defend why they posted it in the 1st place, and mods decide if they want to re-open the thread with the junk posts split off (or deleted).

Hmmm, theoritically its a good idea.
Bud, I think it would turn bad though as you want your moderators to be law ;) and not subject to argument or you'll have people arguing with the moderator and starting a whole nother thread to complain again, and then protest again etc.
