What does this Plugin do?
Basically, this will strike through thread titles on the forumdisplay (will not show with AJAX close until you refresh) but will not strike through sticky threads :devious:
Are there any screenshots?
See post below :)

To alter the colour of threads that are struck through, alter this line in the plugin:
$thread[threadtitle] = '<span style="text-decoration: line-through;">' . $thread[threadtitle] . '</span>';
Change it to:
$thread[threadtitle] = '<span style="text-decoration: line-through; color: #FF0000;">' . $thread[threadtitle] . '</span>';
Change #FF0000 to the colour you want :)

This file appears to be a Product, not a Plugin. Please use Manage Products to add this file.

But it works great!
Glad to hear it :)

It is useful, not only for striking through threads but you can remove the strikethrough feature, and instead of having it check if a thread is sticky and not "strikethrough", you could make it so if it is a closed and sticky thread, the title appears in bold and red and has hover-over text like "READ THIS IT'S IMPORTANT" etc ;)

Where exactly do I go to edit the color of the strike through? Is it in templates? If so under what?
Thanks!

Installed - just a heads up, if a closed post shows up on a new thread search, it isn't 'struck'. ;)

Just wondering how easy it would be to make this a per-forum option? i.e. if we want the strike through on some forums but just the normal closed icon (without strikethrough) on others?

Lovely. Makes smaller font threads harder to read but makes them stand out more.

Quick question. Does this add a query to the forumhome template? Basically, when viewing thread titles (such as is the case with the bundled pic), does this plugin add a query or not? Just wondering...

So if you had a rules thread Closed and stickyed it would have a slash mark through it =\

Thats why we need a per-forum strike through thread mod.
I only want it to be used in my 'reports' forum and 'contact us' forum. When Staff gets done with them they close it and it's obvious they have been worked.
But nobody will do it I guess...

Just wondering whether the OP was able to make a 2nd mod where we could enable this feature on a per-forum basis? Otherwise should we have a go?

OP has not...It would be awesome if you could do it.

Just use a simple conditional. Something like:
if (!$thread['open'] && !$thread['sticky'] && $forum['forumid'] != X)
{
$thread[threadtitle] = '<span style="text-decoration: line-through;">' . $thread[threadtitle] . '</span>';
}
xlguy

Wouldn't that generate several queries for each thread title on every forumdisplay page?
Kirk Y
08-10-2006, 01:12 AM
... no. It's accessing the queries already performed by default.

The phrase is $foruminfo['forumid'] rather than $forum['forumid'] but otherwise thanks!
For those of you who want to turn this strike-through for just certain forums, here are the instructions:
Opt *in* forums for strike-through
1. Install the original mod as normal.
2. Go to Plugin System > Plugin Manager in AdminCP
3. Locate "Strike Through Closed Threads" hook and click [Edit]
4. Replace the code in there with:
if (!$thread['open'] && !$thread['sticky'] && $foruminfo['forumid'] == XX)
{
$thread[threadtitle] = '<span style="text-decoration: line-through;">' . $thread[threadtitle] . '</span>';
}
Before you hit Save, change the XX in the code for the forum number you where you want strike throughs to appear.
Opt out of strike-through
As above, but use this code instead and replace XX with the forum you want to opt-out.
if (!$thread['open'] && !$thread['sticky'] && $foruminfo['forumid'] != XX)
{
$thread[threadtitle] = '<span style="text-decoration: line-through;">' . $thread[threadtitle] . '</span>';
}
Thanks to Kirk for the suggestion, hopefully this is nicely packaged for people now :)
