Hack... and Smiley Database?

It just occured to me. There are loads of smileys racking up in the smiley forum... but who can be bothered to download them all and see which few they'd like for their board?

Unless you check the forum every time a new thread pops up, not many that's who.

So could perhaps 'smiley' and 'smiley catergory: parameter' be enabled in the upcoming hack database so that people can browse the smilies easier?

I mean perhaps this deserves a gallery hack rather...

Catergories would include

:)
special
themed
red
author
Credit

etc with the option of having multiple catergories (like with the hack DB) and the ability to browse by parameter.

with the threads thumbnail hack and a good display, we can have this inside the forum, no real need of a database... but here is an example of what we've done with Adium:

you can see the result by selecting a smilies set and seeing the screenshot inside...

that's a nice database.

However it's suited to people who are out to get a whole theme for their board with a quite consistant look.

I on the other hand add things one at a time as I find them, as I can imagine most bulletin board owners do once their site has been running a while.

Anyhow, my point is that the smiley forum could either do with intergration into this database system planned, or simply a gallery based version.
