I recently received this email:
Sirs,
V.Bulletin.org (http://v.bulletin.org/) is hosting a service that has facilitated piracy of my
eBooks. And your name is on the page, too. This quite possibly
exposes you to being an accessory to a very serious and expensive
felony.
Please contact your customer and request that they remove all
connection to the pirated products of mine that they are linking to.
Regards,
xxxxxxx xxxxxx

Well, it probably means vb.org is hosting some modules that allow downloading of files, and this author thinks by removing this module, no one will be able to download his ebook? Probably has no clue as to run whois, instead of threatening anyone associated with vbulletin.
From my experience, most ebooks contain stolen copyrighted material from published books....

Whatever it is, it is most likely a prank cause vbulletin.org isn't even spelled right. I'd just delete that message and forget about it :)

Probably a Warez site using a rip of your vbulletin.org skin so that's where the confusion lies.

That's pretty funny. They find a pirate site and like dumb robots they email anyone who has a credit on the site. I'm wondering if they sent one to PHP and MySql. Perhaps Apache also? :/

I'd put money that the email is solely designed to get you to the site and then click around looking for you name. Making them money in the process seeing as all the links are ads.

the popup from v.bulletin.org got blocked by our servers here, so it's probably an ad. the site itself is just a camped site.
I don't see anything about this that makes me think it's a vaild report. And if it is they can contact the staff and we will deal with it.
In other words, thread closed. :)
