Could've sworn there was a way to find out who has installed the hacks you made, but I can't remember how :)

i hope you CAN'T.
otherwise coders can be placing malicious code into files, and then simply checking the list of installers, and either performing an action on that board, or being able to retrieve data.

If hack owners can currently check who has installed - PLEASE admins - PLEASE, remove the feature.

@ Wired1 - it's in the postbit's in the release forum. Of course you only see it if they actually post as well as clicking install.

@ robert_2004 - This is purely to aid the providing of support for our hacks. Why would anyone want to supply support to someone who has not installed it? This way, we know what we are dealing with.

You used to be able to back in the vB2 days, and it is a feature I sorely miss :(

well, but robert brings up the point why it is no longer possible to get that list.

when a user posts in the supportthread, a author can see, if he has clicked install or not, but ther won't be another way for the author to find out as long as a user didn't post in the thread :)

But as previously posted elsewhere - it would be nice to get a list of install date/times (minus the username if that's the way it is to be). :)

and as previously posted there as well, with 3.5 maybe ;)

I kinda agree with robert but it does help supporting a hack as you can visit their site to see what they did wrong. Maybe hide your installs options for those that have concerns. Might actually increase install numbers.

Making it an opt-in option would be nice.

BTW, thanks peterska2.

I have just identified a few hacks you installed by simply clicking the "Find more posts by robert_2004" in the postbit popup (standard vB feature). This can be done by anyone, not just coders.
