My site does not have anything fancy in the way of a style, however I would like your opinion on this simplistic approach:

Additionally, we have recently added an e-zine to our site which untilizes the same style:

Also have a custom built aquarium logging system on the site, here is a public page of my aquarium log:

Any thoughts on using a different style here?

I have been considering forcing a different style to be used for the e-zine but can't convince myself. Any reasons to/or not to add a different style for the e-zine?

I'm not good with visioning layouts and styles so if you have any suggestions, a link to similar styles to your suggestion would be awesome!

I find it a bit bright, since the dark blue and light grey contrast a lot. Maybe want to lighter or dull down the blue used in your style.

Yeah, that is all I think you need. Get some clown fish swimming for a new post or some kind of cool gif. I just used a mini of my logo and used a gif animator to make it blink when theres a new post. It will make things look more alive and active.
