View Full Version : Moving from Yahoo - Need Automatic forum subscriptions

New to VB using v.3.5.0. Switching from Yahoo Groups which is more like a listserv combined with a forum. My users are quite used to receiving every forum post via email and I am concerned that forum participation will drop if they have to suddenly start checking the forum regularly.

I understand VB has forum level subscriptions. Is there any way I can automatically turn this on as the default for every user for a certain forum? This would work out nicely - because it will retrain my users by forcing them to come to the forum to post.

Any ideas? TIA!

Although it is possible with some custom code, I'd strongly not recommend to do so - could put heavy load ony your mailserver.

It is a small number of posts, mostly our announcements forum that I care about.

Any examples of code that would be similar?
