Get rid of the shoutbox, or at least put it at the bottom of the page. Guests don't care about what random people like saying to be seen on the front page.

So perhaps add in some conditional tags around it so that only registered members can see the shoutbox .. sounds like a good idea.
EDIT: Thanks to vbShout this is a built in feature to disable particular groups from viewing the messages, this has been enabled and guests no longer view the shoutbox.

Even so, for registered members it just makes them have to scroll to get to your forum list which is pretty annoying. The shoutbox is a sideshow to the forum, it's not the main attraction and hence it shouldn't be on top.
But I don't see one on your site so anyway. The style is very nice. Simple yet effective. Reminds me a bit of the vBT style which is why I like it.

I decided to remove it, guess your right in that it wasnt presenting the correct sort of professional attitude.

Good choice. There's always IM programs that fill that gap anyway. ;)

Again thanks for your comments, i plan on getting a new logo from SitePoint soon to help improve our forum identity which seems to be lacking in comparison with other competitors. :surprised:
