Is there a hack or something to make the URL's more search Engine friendley?

As of now the the links look like this:

http://www.mywebsite.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=13

Is there anyway to make the URL like: http://www.mywebsite.com/forum/KEYWORD.php?redwidgets

or at turn the title name into the URL name?

Thanks

$149 for vbseo is about the same price of a brand new VB forum. Two forums might be better than one lol.. Have one forum be the gateway to another. Anyone try this
?

That would just result in a load of duplicate content and a real waste of time. I am currently using vBSEO and the results are excellent, spiders are constantly checking my material and i am listed after only a couple of weeks of being live in all major search engines. Although the price and the fact that the product is encoded is a risk those who can over look this will actually be reeking the benefits. You dont become a successful forum by sticking to the book and not taking chances, nor do entreprenuers.

Yes, which is why we won't use it! Protecting our database is more important than any hack :ermm: Who knows what's in that code, or what it's really doing :(

why did they encode it? IS that so people don't steal their code? Aren't all programs encoded to protect themselves? I'm just asking as i don't know too much about code.

That's stupid, even vBulletin iteslf isn't encoded.

I'm really 100% against the person VBSEO, for the fact he/she, releases a add on and charges for it, not just an acceptable price, but a new VB owned license type of price. Can you tell that I am not impressed by that member? There are plenty of add-ons for vB that people charge for.... that alone shouldn't be a consideration. If you think it's a high price for what it does, then that might be reason to be against or the fact that you can't see what the code is doing might be a reason but not just the fact that it's commercial script.

For you guys/gals who for one reason haven't gone with the vBSEO solution, have you tried any of the ones like some of the ones released here on vB.org? I'd be interested in seeing what kind of results people are getting from the various different versions like Dean C's version of vBRanking.

I am not against charging for an add on, just the amount of money they are charging.
I've been a member here around 2 years, under a different name, and I have purchased a few add ons for VB- but will never buy one that is about the same price as VBulletin itself. No add on should cost more than $80. IMHO.

Personally the $160 for me is a bit of sticker shock but I would consider it for at least one of my sites if the testimonials from everybody showed that it lived up to it's promise..... but the site in question is a commercial site and there is no way that I will install a product on there if the source isn't visible. For now at least I'll keep monitoring the statuses of the visible source alternatives to see what direction they go in.

I think a bunch of us should all chip in (say like $25) and hire a coder to make us a VBSeo type of add on but better. $149 is alot of money when you consider its just $11 cheaper than vB at $160. I have heard they also attach a link bomb to your main page too as part of the copyright.

the price is high for vbseo but I'm worried more about the encoded part, I for one would never add a script that has " hidden " code..I'm all about spending $ to improve my sites, but I want to see and know what the scipt is Really doing..
