Hey Guys i'm thinking we all need to work together on making a "universal" arcade system for vbulletin 3.5 if i remember on vb 3.x.x we had v3 arcade and ipro arcade or something? Well i think we should all work together (especially the creators of those 2 arcades) on the 1 arcade system for vbulletin 3.5... as soon as we can have some stable code then everyone can work on releasing the games for it???
my part that i am able to play is that i'm happy to host betas, game releases etc on my server.. well guys?

Not really necessary - v3Arcade is only hours away from beta release and will work with ipbpro games, and also vice versa I think, the ipb version is due soon.

v3arcade is in a private beta phase, with the public beta due out shortly..

I can't give an exact timeframe, only John knows that.

Pardon my ignorance, but does v3arcade cost anything, if so, generally how much is it?

Well the hack is brand free, but not the games that come with it. It is not truly a brand free hack in that since of the word.

*One or the other will be out by Friday and the other or both by this weekend November 25 to 27 2005.

Vizionz

there not charging for anything. the arcade will be free when he releases it but you pay 60 now you can download the beta and remove copyrite info and be able to get into there member services

Ahhh, so you only have to pay for support. Where do I sign up? ;)Umm.. Nope, you just pay for the branding free option (removal of powered by v3arcade on arcade pages) and as a bonus, receive "premium" support.

We will still provide support for those that haven't purchased the branding free option.

purchased the branding free option.

Do not know why you would call that branding free if the games have links to another site? Plus it has some backdoor thing or something that has access to your files on your server, but I will see what vbulletin.org guys same what problems can you get from this if it is activated.

I will stick with an arcade system that has regular updates and has some support. As I can see only one that really has updates & support for both vB 3.5 and vB 3.0.x. I will stick with ibProArcade, the thought of paying for flash games in the other one is just not worth it.

But you have to admit the games are a heck of a lot easier to convert for IBProArcade than v3Acade. 3 to 4 lines instead of a zillion. ;)

Ultimately, people are free to make their own minds up and each will have their own opinions about each script. However, I just thought I'd clarify a couple of things..

Do not know why you would call that branding free if the games have links to another site?It removes the v3arcade branding.

Sadly, to do things legally sometimes negotiations have to be made between arcade script and game author. Displaying these links and additional information that they choose is just one way we've found of doing this..

Plus it has some backdoor thing or something that has access to your files on your server. What? You have obviously been mis-informed..

I will stick with an arcade system that has regular updates and has some support.Going off past experiences with both Arcade scripts, I'd say that both have had lousy support and a lack of updates in the past.. :p

But you have to admit the games are a heck of a lot easier to convert for IBProArcade than v3Acade. 3 to 4 lines instead of a zillion. ;)Yup.. Luckily, v3arcade is now compatible with ibProArcade games. :D

so for free we can remove powered by in ibproarcade ? and to me isnt it invisionboard power arcade ? so that really makes no sence for a vb powered board. why wasn't it renamed to something

No. Why would you want to?

Vizionz

its just the point that he said for free ibproarcade

v3arcade is free too

just 60 gives ya the right to remove copyrite

Boofo
11-23-2005, 10:07 PM
Well, for all the hard work Zero has put into it to make it what is now is, the copyright is the least anyone can do, don't you think? ;)

Vizionz
11-23-2005, 10:22 PM
i agree same with both there arcades or anyones hack for that matter.

but they said free there both free arcades there both quality work i expect. and they both deserve props for doing them.

v3arcade wants 60 for perminant copyrite removing and some member features
ibproarcade i dont know if ther doing the copyrite removing for a price but yeah i wouldnt remove it if i didnt pay for it to be removed.

davidw
11-23-2005, 11:10 PM
The only time I remove a copyright, is when its my own creation and I just choose not to have one. Now when I make hacks for other people, I don't usually have a copyright in the open, just in the script itself. Usually something to do with the GPL/GNU.

I think for all the hard work people put into creating these hacks, the least people can do is leave the copyright. To me its a "Thank you" to the author.

Vizionz
11-23-2005, 11:14 PM
i agree i wouldd rather link them in a affiliates addon then a copyrite but i leave them as copyrites

Boofo
11-24-2005, 12:15 AM
Offering branding free for a price is the same as selling it though, in my book. Just another way around it without actually coming out and asking money for it. Especially when it is still in beta. But, I am finding out that poeple will pay to get things early. ;)

Vizionz
11-24-2005, 12:20 AM
yeah its pretty much saying commercial. ya know to tell the truth just by releasing any big hacks here on this site gives you plenty of traffic if you advertise your site in the topic of your hack so copyrites really mean nothing no one clicks that stuff anyway

unless you stumbled apon the beta on a newsgroup......
