View Full Version : Internet Explorer Issue

Defect

I recently (September 29) upgraded to vBulletin 3.5.0. Ever since then, I've been getting complaints that Internet Explorer users can't access my forum. What happens, is it gives the user an error reading:

'Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site: {it gives the url}.

Operation Aborted'

It doesn't happen immediately when you go there, but when you click on a forum or topc, it will happen then, or when you try to click to go somewhere else on the forum.

I'm wondering if this has something to do with 3.5.0 or maybe it messed up somewhere in the upgrade?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Oh, and while I'm here, I may as well address a couple more concerns I have about the newest version:

1. Avatars don't work when you read a topic, but they still work in a users profile.

2. The 'Quick Reply' button has disappeared, making me set the Quick Reply setting to 'No Click', and unless I want to disable Quick Reply all together (which I don't), I will have to stick with this setting.

Any ideas on those also?

Defect, I don't have an answer for you but, by coincidence, this subject came up today also on vb.com .....

Thank you for the link, KW802.

It appears to be a problem is with the forum styles that I'm using. If an Internet Explorer user uses the default skin, the forum works fine.

How do you expect anything to work when you have a Defect?? :D

Let them clear their cache, and like mentioned before, user a real 3.5 style and not a 3.0 style.
