Ban new users instead of delete

Currently, when moderating new users you only have a choice of approve or delete. As this allows a user to re-use their e-mail address for another attempt at registering, it's not enough for me.

What I'd like is the delete to be replaced by the option to 'Ban' by sending them en masse to the banned usergroup we have.

Anyone got this working or know the mod required to make it happen?

Idea
Plugin on Hook admin_global to process Users set to delete:
Assign them to the bangroup, generate Ban-Records - then reset the action to ignore.

Would be great if someone was able to pick it up. Not as 'glamerous' as others perhaps but for those with larger numbers of registrations, it would be a useful addition.

Now getting a bit of a need for this due to large numbers of spamming registrations.

Anyone any thoughts?
