My request is for a sequential numerical assignment for members. I realize there is something similar built in, but I am not quite certain how I could tie this to user profile, and I would actually prefer to have a separate system utilizing a longer code. This will tie into a paid subscription program (internal or external, not sure what's feasible yet). Sorry if this has been proposed before; seems straight-forward enough but I didn't see anything in my search.

in older vb versions, what I used to do was hack the setup files to create the database field "userid" starting at 1001 autoincrement.

That sounds interesting but probably out of scope for my current level of skill.

Well, as time passes, I begin to wonder if your hack might be something I'm capable of. Mind sharing the details?

Hi again. Can I incent anyone to work on this for a modest PayPal fee? Is there a bounty process I can follow?
High-level requirements:
1. Add field to user subscription form called "Membership ID"
2. Field should be customizable, and allow for up to twenty characters (numeric is fine by me).
3. Field should be sequential somehow.
4. I would probably only need it to be numeric, but an option for alphanumeric would be nice.

You basically want a licensing system to go with your Paid Subscriptions then, correct?
I might be able to do this but need to know that little info, unless you got this done already.

Whoops, forgot to subscribe to my own thread.
Yes exactly, I would like more intelligence and membership management tools around the Paid Subscriptions, as you said. I can provide more details if you have specific questions, but my requirements are still somewhat fuzzy.
