Private Threads

I'm looking for a hack that allows users to have private threads on certain forums that I'll specify through the admincp
and users can invite any user within my database to view their topics
It's for diaries forum
is it possible?

Me too!

We need to be able to set up a forum where users can post threads where the topic is public, but the actual content/thread is private and can only be seen by users the topic-starter (not a mod) invites.

Other specifics:
- We only want this feature available in one forum
- The topic-starter needs to be able to add users even after the thread is started/underway
- We would love to have a summary below each thread topic too - I bed this is already a mod that I'll be able to find.

We're probably going to hire someone to do this, but if anyone has been feeling in the mood to port/mod Kentaurus' Private Threads (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=61026&page=1) 3.0 hack, there's never been a better time! There's a high chance they'd get a donation, too.

Just another note: Kentaurus did update it to make completely private threads (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=62037) , but there's no 'feel free to edit this' disclaimer on that, and he isn't responsive).

I've managed success in porting this hack to my board. I have also added the functionality to choose what forums private threads are allowed in. There are many file edits, though. Additionally, the hack's old problem of showing links to threads one doesn't have access to in the lastpost column persists.

I hope to fix this, minimize the file edits, and add admin options for who has permission override privelages, and perhaps change or add to the types of criteria for private threads before releasing.
