Should we be expecting subforums, just like the 3.0.X full release catagory, in the VB 3.5 Plug in forum anytime soon?

No. In fact we will most likely re-merge the existing 3.0 subforums into one.
But that's not fully decided yet, as Xenon is on holiday and Marco still needs a bit of work on the Hack Database :)

What's the point in re-merging?

Possibly to lessen the ridiculous amount of forums we have.

For a few reasons:
- Too much forums giving confusion, both when posting and when looking for a hack
- With the new Hack Database we don't need so many forums, since all the categorizing will be done in a searchable database.

Actually I think it's more confusing without the subforums. I have a very hard time finding what I need for 3.5 because I don't know whether it's a plug-in or other.

Use search engine?

EDIT: Actually, some of the hacks are impossible to find using the search engine (thanks to nonsense titles that some people post)... so removing subforums ain't such a great idea.

I was going to mention that the search feature really does not help much.

If there be hack DB, the hacks do not need to be posted on forum anymore.

I'm not sure that will be true, I think every hack will still need a thread for support.

The Hack DB is just an interface to find and use hacks... they will still have their threads but thats how sorting on what type they are will work Paul ;)

Sort of like the way it used to be....

How about "support" right in the DB? Kind of like comments on hotscripts.com
