Just curious about some of these hacks for vb3.5 I know the guy running LS1tech.com was creating alot of these hacks, and I'm running an f-body forum and the main thing keeping me from moving towards 3.5 is those hacks that are car site related.

Anyone have any news on them?

EvilLs1 won't be upgrading his hacks anytime soon. He has some personal things going on that he needs to take care of first. If and when he decides to upgrade his hacks, I'm sure he will announce it first. I will be looking into upgrading some of them for him as soon as I get a few other things done first.

I was thinking of doing the same thing myself. I already begain coding some things for a new site, so I might add some of these too the list.

Make sure you get his permission before releasing any updates to his hacks.

I wasn't planning on releasing anything, I suck at writting how-to's.

However, I have been contemplating one idea on my own. I use vbgallery and was using vbgarage.

But on a car site, most people upload pictures of their rides in the gallery. And then you go over to the garage and do the same thing all over again. Seems redudant to me.

So I was thinking of making an add-on for vbgallery users that would allow them to create garage albums that would simulate the garage hack.

I have vBGarage running on vB3.5 but:

1) I don't want to share it.
2) I can't share it because it's heavily modified.
3) I am not allowed to share it.

I too need the Timeslip DB, I'm upgrading this weekend.. HELP! :)

I will probably run without it for a while until it's released/modded.

It was really useful on the old board, and like everyone else it seems, I'd love to have it on the upgraded 3.5 version too.

noppid has said that he is NOT converting vbGarage for 3.5.. instead he's making a gallery product to take it's place since it almost is a gallery.

Has any timeline been released for that??

I have converted timeslips.php for a client so the timeslips DB is not useless and the page stays in the serps. But, that's it.

I would be willing to share it since the author has given permission. However, I don't use the hack so I have not been compelled to convert anymore of it.

It's already released - see it in action at Lincoln vs Cadillac (http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/vbpicgallery.php) or Team-2G Mitsubishi Forum (http://www.team-2g.com/mitsubishi-eclipse/vbpicgallery.php)

I'd take it the timeslips, I checked out the gallery deal, still seems redudant if I already have a gallery.

The replacement is vbpicgallery. It does cost now to buy the file, but it is worth the money. It upgraded my site perfectly and it actually has some pretty kewl features in it. Here is a pic of it running on my site: http://www.insanemustangs.com/forums/vbpicgallery.php? and here is a pic of the timeslip database inaction too: http://www.insanemustangs.com/forums/timeslips.php?

What did you have to hack to get the time slips to work. Also does vbpicgallery work with the old vbgarage tables. I don't want to lose all my users info. I'd drop $20 now if it will fix the time slip and garage issues I'm having...
