Make User Inactive Instead Of Delete

is there a hack out there for like 3.0.7 where I can make a user inactive, not show in the memberlist, etc instead of deleting him? He wants his account deleted, but Id rather disable it somehow, in case later in the future he wants it back?

Any ideas?

I'm sure that in the usergroup settings there is an option to show on the member list. Just create a new user group called 'Inactive Members' or something and set it to not show on the member list and then move him into there.

I could of course be wrong as my sites down at the moment so I have no ACP to check.

We've done this with the 'default' user prune option in the adminCP...

We made a new usergroup called 'inactive' and instead of deleting users who didn't post in x days, we just moved to the new usergroup which is set not to appear on the memberlist.
