Those of us who are willing to PAY for addons for our sites have nowhere to go. The threads posted in the forum here get no views and when they do, no replies.

Someone needs to come up with a professional developers network full of developers who want to make money writing plugins for VB. I have a large budget for my site but cannot find a single person to do freelance work. Even posting on elance gets you nowhere because noone seems to know Vb.

Soooooooooo frustrating :(

If you wanted to get a network like that together -- you wouldn't necessarily need to be VB skilled yourself to organize it. I think that's a great idea. A consolidated community of talented modders willing to make money for their skills.

Now why not me? Well I am too busy! But I'd like it as a resource!

Best of luck!

I would guess that for 99% of people, vBulletin programming is a hobby, not a profession, so a network of "professional developers" would be hard to achieve.

It amazes me that no one wants to make any money with mods. I need about $5,000 worth of custom work done and cant find any takers. Its amazing.

I can only speak for myself, but I am not that much interested in for-pay-work - I am interested in cool hack ideas :)

If you post in the service request forum (the place for payed requests) nobody can answer. All details must be discussed in private. I guess most reasonable requests are getting done, although i can't back this up with numbers.

Reasonable i call:
- A good description of what someone wants to be done.
- A good balance between price and work
- Something that is appealing to someone (most will only take work that they think is fun to do).
- Huge projects are sometimes difficult to place since not that many individuals have that much spare time
- ....

Since I have been hunting for help for 7 months now I thought I would bring this up again.

It would sure be great if there was a site where one could go and find people who are:

A) Familar with VB
B) Want to make money

Right now you can't find people on Elance, or here on VB.org. We are about to bring a full time programmer in house just so they can learn VB and start working on all the things we need to add to our site.

I know many share my frustrations. I've received countless private messages from people who say they too never get responses here on vb.org for service requests.

There has to be a better way...........if there are any experienced programmers out there, who have time and want to make some money please contact me. I could keep you busy with work for months. I run a professional networking forum and VB acts as much more than just a forum. It is the membership system that powers everything else my site has to offer.
