This modification is the result of begin very lazy and eating a lot of pizza. ;)

Once installed this modification will allow you to order pizza directly from your admincp. For the most part this is only supported in the USA right now, and even if you live in the USA your local stores may not support placing orders over the Internet at this time.

Currently this modification allows you to order food from:

Papa Johns Pizza
Pizza Hut
Dominos Pizza

If you know of any other places that support placing orders over the Internet let me know, also please include a link to their website. I will add more restaurants to this modification if they are requested.

Version 1.0.3 Released

1.0.3 was released on 01/19/06, support for Dominos Pizza was added

Installation Instructions

Download the attached file (cpnav_pizza.xml) and upload it to the /vBulletin/includes/xml/ directory.

Can my users order food to?

I will not be including this in my modification by default because I don't have a need for it myself and think it would look messy. However Mastar (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/member.php?u=112169) has posted instructions to allow users to order food in this post (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=850049&postcount=40)

Shame :(

I've added support for ordering from Pizza Hut now, if you wish to upgrade just upload the new cpnav_pizza.xml file. :)

Pizza Hut doesn't have an online ordering one in my area yet there is a Pizza Hut about 1/2 mile from my home. Papa John's has one though about a mile away. LOL

Same thing here, but if you think that is bad try this on for size. Papa Johns is a 15 minute drive from my house, pizza hut is a 8 minute drive along the same route. Papa Johns delivers my pizza hot everytime, pizza hut won't come out here because I'm 1/4 of a mile over their distance limit on this side of town.

Pizza hut is to expensive anyway. A few years ago I'd go in on a pizza with two friends, for $15 or so we got 2 large one toppings and a 2 liter delivered from Papa Johns, and still had money left over for the tip.

Maybe you can add Dominos to this, too. They are just down the street. LOL

I see this mod as having potential. ;)

I don't think they do online ordering, at least I can't find it on their site. Then again I closed the page after I noticed their entire layout was made up of images ;).

Is there any way to allow certain usergroups, besides admins, get their pizza on too? Maybe something in the UserCP?

Yes this would be great add on for normal users if they could get it in their cp.

That Dominos link you couldn't find. (http://www.dominos.com/)

Non-US customers can then go to "Find a Dominos" and then click the link for "Non-US residents".

Hope this helps feed your pizza craze.

Adding 'vB Pizza Boy for 3.5' to the Navbar

This is what I did to add mine

***************
FIND IN NAVBAR:

<if condition="$show['pmstats']"><br /><phrase 1="$vbphrase[unread_x_nav_compiled]" 2="$vbphrase[total_x_nav_compiled]" 3="$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[private_messages_nav]</phrase></if>

If you are using the 'QUICK MOOD CHANGER' like I do you can use this:

Put this <div style="position:relative;"> in the begining of the 'QUICK MOOD CHANGER'

Example:

<!-- Quick Mood Changer -->

<div style="position:relative;">
My Mood:

And Add This After The Quick Mood Changer

================================================== =========================================

<!-- Pizza Menu -->

Thanks for that Mastar, I've edited the first post and added a link to your post.

1.0.3 was also released a few minutes ago, see first post for changes and the new file. :)

When will other usergroups (Registered Users, Mods) be able to use this hack?

Brad

When will other usergroups (Registered Users, Mods) be able to use this hack?

That will not be included for a couple of reasons.

1) This hack requires an external user account at a 3rd party site to function, a hassle most of the users will not go through.
2) If someone is using this service anyway, they will likely visit the site providing the service to order food, not yours.

Putting it in the admincp was simply a result of my own lazyness. I'm in there 99% of the time anyway, so a link is quicker for me to click than typing the url into the browser or bringing up my bookmarks.

However, a someone was kind enough to post the code he used to allow his members to order food. You can find it in this post (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=850049&postcount=40).

Chipotle now has an online order option (Although I do believe you still have to pick it up). Perhaps you'd like to add that along with the pizza options?

Do u mind if i post this as the most useless VB3.5 modification to date??? :D

JayJay

It's useful if you wish to order a pizza through your AdminCP ;) At least it has that function.

One assumes that you can also edit the code to include any site that you wish.

I liked this idea so much in concept I put it on my own board. Except I did it a bit differently; I made it available to any members in the Quick Links pop-up menu on the navbar. I made an "Order Pizza" section with the three main links in it. But I got the idea from this hack. :up:

I haven't told my members about it yet. I want to see who discovers it first! :D

has anyone try this mod on 3.8?
Can it be made so all members or members of a user group can use it?
