Members need "x" amount of posts to view forums content.

I run a football site but people and just signing up for the live football streams forum. I need to know if it is possible to only let them view the threads in that forum after they have made "x" amounts of posts in a 24 hour period.

Check out Usergroup promotions, they are your friend for this kind of things. ;)

..... only let them view the threads in that forum after they have made "x" amounts of posts in a 24 hour period.I assume from this he means a rolling 24 hours, so if they had access, but don't keep the post rate up, they lose it again ?

Oops missed the 24 hours. :/

Guess i shouldn't be answering posts if i don't have the time to read them good.

Yes thats right, i know i had a similar thing for my arcade on version 3.0.7 where they could only play games if they had made so many posts in a 24hr period.

It is possible to write such a Hack.

I made the arcade hack for this. It works with anything, you just need to put it in the right file. Take a look at my hack in my profile that limits access based on how many posts a user made in the past 24 hours.

thanks for you reply but i wouldn't know where to put the code to make it work for the forums? Would you be so kind to make this hack for me please. I know this would be a very usefull addition to my forums and possibly a lot of other forums on the internet.

Before using 007's Code i'd strongly recommend to optimize it, as it adds 3 queries - and two of them aggregate data that is already available: $vbulletin->usergroupcache

Yes I wasn't sure how to pull some of that data so I just requeried. It's the basic idea though. :)

Thanks in advance.
