I was looking through www.webhostingtalk.com and i noticed that they have a request and offer forum in which very active. Why not have a forum like this in both PHP and GFX?
PHP coders can post hacks or anything that they would like to sell.
Designers can post skins, templates, etc.
Screen Shots will be provided
Number of purchases will be replaced with "Installs" (if item based on a leased purchase in which multiple people can buy)
Other options such as Aprox. time it took to make this, how long will the sale be going.
People can bid and stuff it member allows/wants that.
I myself would like something like this for anything that i design and want to be sold. Also, i've noticed that people here get blamed alot for advertising their hacks and stuff. Hence, i think this will prevent that.
Out of all my requests, i think this is by far the most important.

I think it has a lot to do with vBulletin doesn't want to provide areas for others to make money on official vBulletin sites, which is understandable.

I guess it is. However, showing things that members can buy for vb, on a VB site, should encourage members to buy botht he software and the hack/design. It will also give back to people who take time out of their day to code and release a hack to others as suppose to keeping it for themselves.

This has been shot down several times despite the apparent advantages Jelsoft could potentially enjoy.

That means you're wasting your time, it won't be done.

Ok no need for all the hostility..... i guess it was a stupid idea to think that people can give back to the people that take time out to make things for VB's software..close this if you'd like

it's not hostility, we just had another long useless debate about this 3 weeks ago... there will not have a commercial place for advertising or sharing information about external work on vB... Jelsoft will be the only one to decide, even if we debate for months...

Then what do we have to do to submit this idea to jelsoft? Assuming that they're not already aware of it...

They are aware of it, we discussed this not to long ago as a matter of fact.

And you guys decided as well that it's a waste of time?

It's still an on-going discussion at this time, as I said in the other thread related to this issue, this would be a big change in policy and it would be some time before it saw the light of day even if it was going to be done.

This will be pursued further after the release of vBulletin 3.5. At this time there are not enough resources to implement something like this.
