vBulletin 3.0.9 Released

vBulletin 3.5 is rapidly approaching the time where it will replace vBulletin 3.0.x as the stable, supported release but until that time we continue to support and fix problems in the 3.0 series.

Version 3.0.9 remedies various problems identified in 3.0.8, in particular a problem with Internet Explorer freezing while posting a message, and an issue relating to the mailqueue failing to send digest email notifications.

A new feature in 3.0.9 is image verification use in the 'contact us' form. This should eliminate the reported problems of spam being sent through it.

Additionally, much has been said about a vulnerability in 3.0.x related to the [img] bbcode tag. While this vulnerability does exist, the ability to exploit it is extremely limited. Nevertheless, it is fixed in 3.0.9. (The attached file overwrites modcp/banning.php and will fix this issue.)

Yes. However, there are a list of changed files here (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=959208&postcount=3) so you can just upload those ones instead so there is less editing to do. A file comparing programme such as Araxis Merge or Beyond Compare will highlight the changes in your files too.

Or you can just patch your 3.0.8 by uploading the banning.php file to your modcp folder overwriting the existing one.

Good Update, the 3.0.8 really had a problem when sending PM's , i hope it disappear in this version..

would u tell us the changes exactly in 'contactus' and 'footer' templates , especially 'footer' template.

Can i do the upgrade If i replacethe new one with the old files?.

You need to use the new files otherwise it won't upgrade properly and will more than likely cause a lot of errors.

Is there a way to just apply the IE crashing fix to a 3.0.8 install? There's too much work involved for me to upgrade to .9 now.
