Ha ha... this is pretty cool. If anyone here has a forum about marine life, this would be perfect. Oh... just so you know, the plural form of "fish" is also "fish". That fish... those fish.

Could prolly use this for different SWF files and per style too since it uses a template edit :)
Nice bro, I'll certainly be using this :)

I confirm that it creates problem with firefox and netscape (i.e.: can't click on the forum links). Until the author of this fish add-in fixes this, you can just add the ie check condition around the code:
<if condition="is_browser('ie')"> fish codes above </if>

It's just an embedded SWF... I believe he wants to know why that isn't working...
Great one.
Does anyone know where I can find other alternatives to the fish-file?
For Halloween, Christmas etc?

I don't think you could be any more unhelpful if you tried - or maybe you are trying- either way smart aleck comments are really not needed.
It's just an embedded SWF... I believe he wants to know why that isn't working...
correct...
It is just a template edit to the header template, so it seems it should work in 3.0.8, but it doesn't. Was something added to 3.5 that handles flash better/differently?
Pardon me if it is taboo to discuss such things in the 3.5 forum :alien:

Nope, not that I know of... it doesn't make any sense as to why it's not working for you. Are you certain you're entering the correct path for the .swf file?
Edit: Oh my God! If you click the fish, they like... blow up. ROTFL!

accualy this is my first time i use firefox . i wrote this code for both ie+firefox but i found that
Function works perfectly in firefox and IE until you add wmode="transparent". Then Firefox no longer runs the function.
this is my big problem now !!!!!!!!!!!!
if u just remove the <param NAME="wmode" VALUE="Transparent"> code its will be the same !!! on board that white box behind the flash file .
maybe some one here or there can help to do it .

its works but there is a problem with the firefox which cant allow to you to click on the buttoms unders the flash file ! even if it works and u see ur forum . i think to let it play with the IE explorer now and hide it while users browse with firefox is the Best way now .
to do that just change the code from
<embed src="http://www.path of ur file/fish.swf" quality=high wmode=Transparent width="630" height="650"></embed>
to
<param NAME="Src" VALUE="http://www.path of ur file/fish.swf">

I got this working in FF and IE. However, when in FF, the links are not selectable. I did not solve this, but worked around it by telling the width and height to be 1024 by 250 and setting the left and top to 0px so that the flash file hugs the top and left and does not overlay my links.
The only drawback to this is that my logo used to be a link and went to the forumhome page and now it does not work in FF. Still , this is usable in it's current state as my forum is using a fish theme.

Yep, that's the new MS security fix for ActiveX plug-ins. You can reset the security fix with a hotfix from Microsoft's website that will make IE perform like it used to with ActiveX and Flash. But in June that fix will be obsolete and I think we're stuck with "click to activate".
