It would be nice to have some way to tell who you should help with coding questions or completely ignore... up to you guys though.

Won't be done due to privacy issues.
Users that are unlicensed can only post in Pre-Sales and Site Feedback (and Lounge?).

So if somebody posts in the vBulletin Forums you can sure that he is licensed.

just for your info unlicensed users cannot use pm system as well, so if someone sends you a pm, he has a license :)

hey protoman ;)

What issues?

It's not our business to know who's a customer or not.

Debatable... but I guess you're right.

Why isn't it? It effects whether to give them tech help or not.

if you start pointing on who will have support or not, you will build discrimination among the users here...

Jelsoft take care of the non-licensed users, so you don't have to manage it yourself...

coders have a existing way to see who is a licensed user and to who they can give support, because you can't download hacks if you are not licensed, and then you can't really use the "installed" button that way... coders know who clicked that button, so they can decide by themselves if they want to offer support to guys that have not clicked the link.

i think the question is answered...

Jelsoft take care of the non-licensed users, so you don't have to manage it yourself...Take care of them ?

Some people just never click install.

i think the question is answered...Maybe, but the subject is not finished, people still have views they wish to contribute.

They are already discriminated against, they have no PM system and can only post in certain forums ......We don't call this discrimination, we call this "permissions"... you gain permissions by being licensed... or why this system would have been built for...Take care of them ?yes, each time a non-licensed user post something in the hacks forums or anywhere else, a moderator is pointing the right process to take to be registered and licensed... ya know, the You are currently showing up as unlicensed,....Nice theory, I tried it - it doesn't work, because people often only click it when it's installed and working - and often the support questions are prior to this. Some people just never click install.that will mean that coders have to offer support to everyone... that's good for me anyway... maybe some other coders would not like that, but hey, they can stop offering support if they think it's a loss of time!

You forgot to mention that Coders do not know who has clicked it - We used to but that feature was removed when we upgraded from vB2 to vB3 :)

You do if they post, which someone asking for help generally does :)

sorry, but we always see who "installed" them... look in the postbit: nexialys has installed this mod... this was not deleted, it was modified to be simplier...

Having the postbit display an icon for all unlicensed users is overkill, considering they can't download anything in the first place...

I am aware of that, however I was referring to the "coders know who clicked that button" statement implying that they know everyone who has clicked it ;)

No - That only shows the users who have installed it and replied to the thread - The old vB2 vB.org used to show every installer in a list much like the standard "who has posted in this thread" feature :)
