This is a new style...plan to play around a bit more with it, btw. Feedback is always appreciated!

Only thing I don't like about the style is the footer area. Looks too compact and squashed. Otherwise, it looks very nice. :)

I love it, but I would change the black colour to something lighter. When you go to "search" its all black and hard to look at.
Really a nice style, congrats.

Agreed...that combination was hard to read and has been changed...thanks for the suggestion!

Another nice style.
But when are you going to come up with an original style and not copy someone else's style?
Other than that your styles rock!

ummm...sorry, but this is original and purchased as a one-off on the open market and owned by me, not copied. Most of the major players (not all, but Extremepixels, Transversestyles, Cinvin and vBcore have) in the skinning business buy some of their designs from someone else and either code them inhouse or outsource the coding. http://www.iamvica.com/services/index.php?p=portfolio is the site where one designer has produced alot of the styles you see on the 4 above mentioned sites and sold exclusive rights to them. There is nothing wrong with this and they are still original works owned by those who bought them with rights to put their name on them, but I just don't think most people are aware that is how alot of designs end up for sale.

no, and your work is very good! There is a whole world of designers out there selling their work but who have no desire to do coding or maintain a vb skin site.

ps. i think you should change the BG color to the color of the side images, so it blends better.
i think it would look much better

And also to add that crysis who owns vBcore is the one I know who you are talking about. Didn't even create his own website he bought it from this guy http://www.thebigchris.com. So I would stay far away from vbcore.

I'm not trying to imply anything sinister here about one person or site. As I have gotten into the business I was surprised to find this is where alot of the really nice styles you see on these sites come from...but it is a good business relationship between sites that sell and designers who design and it gets some creative products out there. I see that vbstyles has bought the rights to vbcore's default style and will soon be selling it on their site...1st time I've seen them do that.

sorry smack....
but i have a little problem here.
your skin here (http://vbskinworks.com/forum/index.php?styleid=26)
is cuttin it QUITE close to this one: (http://www.vbstyles.com/forum/index.php?styleid=79)
everything is pretty much the same, but changed slightly...
also, where'd you get this skin: (http://vbskinworks.com/forum/index.php?styleid=56)
because i coded that for a client, not for you...

yes...others have said it was a copy, but it's not. There was some inspiration there, but the header was created in swishmax by me and the other items are CSS as you know...

this is where: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=296610
does Kevin with RacinNascar sound familiar?
now...my next question is WHY does everyone want to constantly accuse me of ripping????
Blindchild02
09-09-2005, 07:51 PM
yes, racinnascar is who i coded it for.
second off, you're only accused of ripping since your designs are SO SIMILAR.
maybe get your own style.... branch out be unique.

These two are in the works (being coded). What do you think of them?

why do you care what i think....
im just giving you advice, since you're the one talkin about being blamed for ripping.

Having reviewed both skins, that isn't "ripping". Clearly there may have been some inspiration, but it is not the same.
So I would ask you that you stop accusing him/her of ripping styles so this thread can go back to its original purpose. Thank you.
