This is nice and very much needed! Would it be hard to backport this to 3.0?

@KuRI
Do you have vBAdvanced Gallery installed?

@Roxie
I forgot to mention that this doesn't work properly when you are stroing Profile Pictures in the Database due to this Bug (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/bugs35.php?do=view&bugid=932).

@Reeve of Shinra
Actually, this is a Port of a 3.0 Hack.
But I am too lazy to write instructions :)

relatively to the bug, would you have a fix for that bug actually ?!

i've read the discussion, but there is no final answer... (would be good to fix it!)

no screen ?

Andreas
09-01-2005, 08:04 PM
There is nothing to see (except one setting).

@nexialys:
Well, the fix is to overwrite the functions in Class vB_Datamanager_Userpic and place the Hooks there - as posted in the Bugreport.

I wiped xxes over my IP address.

I was changing the storage back to Filesystem when this happened.
All the images have filenames like _759096 and do not show. The url of that one is http://www.nzboards.com/photos/showimage.php?i=205&c=507. Doesn't work. :(

Gonna take a look at it, but will take a few hours as I currently got other things to do.

Admin CP - Avatars - User Picture Storage Type

Pretty confusing to put Profile Pictures Storage Type options under Avatars, and only under Avatars, really.

Should be in vBulletin Options - User Pictures or a link to that same page somewhere else.

Doesn't it say 'images are currently being served from the database' above that?

By submitting the form with the paths, you are changing the storage type to File System.

Hack works great but I've decided it really wasn't what I personally wanted. So I uninstalled it and deleted all the pictures and catagories it made and the random pictures that now show up on the gallery home page and my forum home page from the gallery are still being taken from the pictures that have been deleted so they are coming up as red X's. Does anyone know how to fix this?
