View Full Version : Forget the Style

I know styles aren't my thing. This one's passable, and my members don't complain about it; so it will do. ;)
What I am interested in is the quiz system
Main Quiz Page:
http://www.eaforums.com/forums/quiz/
Submit a New Quiz (automatically creates a link and thread in the forum.)
http://www.eaforums.com/forums/quizzes-puzzles-captions/
Recent Quiz Scores on Forumhome
http://www.eaforums.com/forums/
Is it intuitive enough for non-techie guests? (No registration is required to take the quizzes) Is it missing any features?

In my opinion, the layout of the quiz is a bit all over the place. Maybe if you made the first two tables align better and the third table slightly resemble the first two it would "match" a bit more.

The third doesn't resemble the first two because I'm using the same templates on forumhome. I may go ahead and make a second set of templates for that data on the quiz page.
I see what you mean about the alignment though. I'll tweak that.

I like it. I everyone scored a 72 on your biology test. :)

Also tried that, got 72%. :D A bit of that we've never covered in Biology here.

lol, 90%. I didn't know the How many bits are in a byte question.
Edit: These are actually quite addicting. :D

It's a shame y'all can't see the other major changes such as the quiz submission process that allows users to edit and test their quizzes before submitting them to me for approval. This saves me so much time because the submitter can check their work to make sure there aren't any glitches.
I reworked the approval side of the submission process as well. I can take the quiz before approving it to ensure that no answers are missing. And, when the quiz is approved, it automatically starts a new converation thread for the quiz in the appropriate forum.
There's also private report cards for registered members that averages quiz scores by category and overall. And, there is a feature that allows registered users to see all quizzes posted since they last logged in.
Other things that the original hack doesn't have is author accredidation, time stamps on quiz submissions, and quiz difficulty rating.

Have you released that quiz hack? Do you plan to? :)

That quiz hack was released by Zero Tolerance for both 3.0.x and 3.5. I have just modified the heck out of mine. I don't plan on releasing my changes as addons at this point. I have more stuff released than I have time to support properly as it is.

Amy...I've always wondered...is your avatar a self portrait?

Sort of. It's as close as I could get with the avatar creation site that I shared in the lounge a short while back.

Believe it or not, I finally realized that after taking the Biology test. Duh on me. ;)
