Yes shot in the dark and I dunno exactly how it would be implemented. However with the release of google talk, theres a jabber server for everybody to use. Just a brain fart I had, it would be cool if its possible.

JWChat was written using AJAX technology it relies on JavaScript and HTML at the client-side only. It supports basic jabber instant messaging, roster management and groupchats based on the MUC protocol.
So lets support the open source people and make this hack a reality. I know I would install it for sure.
This would be a great addition. 3.5 now of course. ;)

nope. We are working on it. Me and the dev of JWChat are trying out some ways to keep the session open.

Any updates on this excellent idea?
I am still hoping this will happen - 2 years later.
I am currently running IRC - but would love jabber MUC much better.
