I've looked around on here and there seems to be a few people wanting a recipe hack, but no coders seem to be up to the challenge... The best they can do is recomend Hacks dB and modify the fields...
There is a very good hack for IPB that I ran before I went to a vB license...
Could anyone port over the IPB (http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/4736) version over to a vB or does anyone think they are up to the challenge to coding one from scratch??
Anyway, thanks in advance and I hope to see one released soon!

Wow, that hack on IPB looks exactly what I'm looking for... Anyone interested in porting this over? Has anyone asked the original author?
I'll also be watching...

I also posted a question on the authors website to see if he would be interested in porting to VB based... We'll see what he says...
Any authors out there, i could pay $50. for such a hack - I'm sure others would pay small fee also...
Thanks -

I checked with the original author, and he is willing to let someone take his original code, and modify it to work with VB... Anyone interested out there? (It would be a great hack for sites using VBa, or VBPortal)
Any interest?

I've never seen a reciepe's hack. What kind of info do you input into it and how would you want it displayed?

I have been looking for a recipe hack for two years now, lol. Recipes should have fields like those of a recipe: ingredients, measurements, search by category, keywords, etc. A good recipe site for ideas can be found here: http://www.allrecipes.com/ Just look at how they list one recipe. For example, search for Lasagna.

I almost created something like that in my phpnuke days. Sounds like a good idea.

I'd like to resurrect this old post. I have been so patiently awaiting a recipe hack for over a year now. Has anything developed at all? In the past, I've used Cinq's vbarticles has as substitute, but its not a true recipe hack similar to allrecipes.com

There is a very good hack for IPB that I ran before I went to a vB license...I've used the following with XOOPS, an open-source content management system: Recette (Cookbook Management) (http://www.xoops.org/modules/repository/singlefile.php?cid=43&lid=1524).
Though not directly translatable, the database schema may be of help to someone trying to put together a similar module for vBulletin 3.0 or 3.5.

Perhaps these would be of some help to some coder willing to take up this project: sourceforge.net search for keywords "php recipe" (http://sourceforge.net/search/?words=php+recipe&type_of_search=soft).

I could benefit from this mod as well and would be willing to throw another 50 into the pot to see it completed.

Actually, there is a mod for GARS (http://www.thevbgeek.com) that works as a recipe system.
Hope this post is usefull to some.

Count me in. I kinda sorta worked around it by modding the green snot out of my site. You can check it www.dominicancooking.com, but I am interested in a more advanced system, so I am in for another US$50 to whoever do this.

I am using GARS but I'm not talented enough to modify it like I'd like to use it. There isn't anyway to bring up just lowcarb recipes, or high rated recipes, etc.

So did anyone ever create that system?
