Hi all
I looking for a hack, in which user can hide their birthday itself in the profile settings. Is there a hack which make this possible?
cheers

Well you can remove it from the template..but I am not sure about how to make it a user chosen option.
Do you want it like a user choice option? If so, I will see what I can do.

Hi bigcurt
That would be very great! :bunny:
Maybe you can made something like this.
- At registration the user must enter the birthday compellingly.
- User can hide their birthday for other users itself in the profile settings
- On users birthday, the others only see who has birthday (hide mode). They can't see exactly birthday datas (month/year).
- In unhide mode everything remains like it is.
Thank's for your help :classic:

This is what I currently got on our production Board
- Users must enter complete and "valid" Birthday on Registration
- Users that have a complete and valid Birthday can't edit this afterwards (there are some old records which have incomplete Birthdays, therefore I made it so they can edit it once)
- User can chose if they want to show their Birthday, Only Age or Nothing.
- Birthday/Age is being shown according to the setting
If Only Age or Nothing is selected, they also won't show up on Calendar or Forum Home (Todays Birthdays)

Do you have an xml for all of that by chance? ;)

Whoops! Sorry about that. Didn't see what forum I was in. ;)
Still a good idea for 3.5, don't you think? ;)

Yep. And i'll surely port it, as we need this feature.
But I am highly unsure if I am going to release it ... most likely it will require File Edits, but haven't really looked at it yet.

Well, I would be interested in it, anyway. ;)
