This is my Hot Topics on Formhome page plugin redone as a VBadvanced CMPS 2.x module.
VBadvanced is found here: http://www.vbadvanced.com/products.php?do=productinfo&p=4
To install, simply import the module file in the upload/download module section of your admincp. Do not try to import this as a plugin or a product.

Hate to say it, but it doesn't seem to work. I imported, but it won't show up.

ok. I've never exported a module before. Let me see if I can figure out what's going on.

Yeah. I see it. I am going to skip the module download thing and give y'all the manual install directions in a bit.
The module doesn't seem to import properly, but no error messages are thrown.

OK. I uploaded the manual zip file for you. Let's hope this works better. Before you do install this, delete the old module if you have already installed it using the import.

Unfortunely it still does not work for me at least.

I'll give it a whirl just as soon as I've finished uploading the RC2 files. :)

And it won't, unless you do as I said and delete the module and install it manually.
This seems to be a module import/export problem. The code works just fine.

Thnx for the hack amykhar , but when I push on the link of a hottopic,
it bring me to showthread.php?t=73, it's not link to forum/showthread.php?t=73
How can I fix that.

In the module template, add the /forum/ before showthread.php

Any way to control where the threads are being pulled from?
I'm no php guru, and took a quick look in the module file only to be totally confused.

The way it's pulled now is based on forum permissions. If you want that changed, you'll have to change the list of forums to suit your needs. I am sorry, but I don't have time to do free variations of this mod at this time because there are so many different possibilities.

She means open your hottopics.php and paste before where is showthread.php /forum/ same as I did it as you can see below
<strong><a href='/forum/showthread.php?t=".$hottopic[threadid]."'>
It is maybe 3 or 4 times you need to change this path.
@Amy
Because the most of us (I think so) have the forum path in this way, it would be better to change the php in that way or would be nice to place a hint in the install.txt for some of us dumbies :)
B.t.w., very sweet module and I would love you for ever if you could make more modules for cmps. :)
Thank you
