Andreas

Hmm ... could be problems with AJAX caused by non-english characters.
Did you try with default Style, Language and english Text only?

CBE

So can any body CONNECT the AJAX with PLUGIN ??????????????????

What browser are you using?

Andreas

@CBE
So the same problems appear with stock Files, no Plugins, stock Style and Language?
Then you should report this as a Bug and/or open a support Ticket @ Jelsoft so they can look into it.

If he's using something other than IE, I suspect a plugin issue with the browser. When we first loaded 3.5 on the testbed, some of the staff were having issues with AJAX and Firefox. Turned out to be one of the plugins was out of date and not compatible with AJAX.

Ie 6

Have you tried a different browser?

Grrrrrrrrrrrr.. I hate this doublepost hack!

That is not using the default language.
Disable all custom languages.

1) I don't even know what you want to have as a Plugin
2) To do anything one must find the Problem first

So please set the language to English if you want use to help you.

CBE

but we can solve this problem by making a PLUGIN that have its own code and solve all that !!!!!!!!!

Andreas

I don't understand a word, sorry.

If this Problem occurs with stock Files/Style/Language, report it as a bug @ Jelsoft and/or open a support ticket there.

If it does not occur then, there must be smth. wrong with your customizations.

The PlugIn will be for the Quick Reply/Edit,,

So it will use its own code ... not the AJAX

Andreas

So in fact you want to disable AJAX on Showthread?

Then use the attached Plugin.

But I still think you should fix the Problem, instead of working around it by disabling features.

You can disable AJAX in the AdminCP and use the legacy edits and replys.

but how i will have the Quick Reply...
i want it to be active in my site >>>>> but it is not working with the AJAX

Biker_GA

You'll still have quick reply, just not via AJAX.

You obviously have something turned off that AJAX needs to work properly. To turn AJAX off for quick edits and use the legacy quick edit go to:

AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> Message Posting and Editing Options -> Quick Edit

Set that to No and you will revert to the 3.0x style of Quick Edit.

@Biker_CA
Hmm, you can disable Quick Edit, but I least I haven't found an option to disable AJAX for Quick Reply in ACP?

Stupid question time...

Has he tried to refresh his browser already? Maybe he's got the old javascripts saved...

I know several of my goobs had to refresh when they logged onto the test site due to them.

Prolly already tried it, but figured it couldn't hurt to mention ;)

I'm not sure "Quick Reply" is dependent upon AJAX. Of course, I've been wrong before. ;)

And with all the references to quick reply, quick edit, quick this and that, I was getting confused when I posted the quick edit fix earlier.

I do agree with you that the issue is with his installation. I found a reference in the Style and Language settings for the DHTML popups.

Use dynamic HTML popup menus to reduce screen clutter if user's browser is capable?

Please note that disabling this option will also disable some AJAX features, such as user name suggestion.

Hard to say what else, if disabled, would cause AJAX to misfire.

SO ?????????

How can i fix my problem with the QUICK REPLY....

Biker_GA

If the quick reply isn't working, and you have it turned on in your AdminCP, it's a bug and should be reported on vb.com
