It's only early days yet but I think my site is starting to look pretty good. I brought some skins off extremepixels and modified the disturbed one. The only thing I am really using off that skin is the icons. Let me know what you think and feel free to give me some advise on any improvements I can make.

I have no idea why, but that skin reminds me of the fusion skin that i believed was also made by extreme pixels.

- Try to limit the amount of images you have on a skin, notice how all big boards have very little images, take vb.org for example. Or board.rapmusic.com Skins with alot of images are extremely nice however, their are not to kind with 56k

- Extreme pixel skins are nice, however, try not to buy premade skins because then soem users will recognize your skin and then begin to compare your site to the site where they saw that skin.

- Try to make your skin represent what your site is about, alot of people that go to your site will not know to much about forums and things like that. Therefore, the first thing they look at is your design. If they can't tell what your site is about by looking at that then they'll be gone.

Also what with everyone having different fonts and colors, makes things very hard to read....

Oh and does extreme pixels own your site or something? I ask because every style except the original is theres.

Sorry about that. I have had alot of attacks on my site so I have had to ban alot of IP ranges. If you would like to take a look feel free to send my your range & I will take it off. Maybe when I get a bit more knowledgable I'll make a hack that limits the amount of guests that connect to the forum at one time.

Well, I would diversify your style to at least different artist as one artist tends to stick to the same design with different colors.....

Well you can do what I do. Take a premade board and custimize the hell out of it until its hard to tell its premade.

I strongly suggest you don't ban big IP ranges, you're limiting yourself from a lot of new potential members.

PORTAL:

I like the look of your portal. And that's a lot when you figure that I hate portals.

BOARD INDEX:
There's too much going on with the forum headers ON the actuall forums. (definitely the works of extreme pixels. :rolleyes: )
Nothing wrong with the color scheme, but the red buttons are lamo and look generic. I was so let down because I was anticipating a rollover effect, but got nothing but the hand. They should at least match the other new thread buttons and such.
I would also kill the "New posts, No New Posts, Closed Forum" Key at the bottom.
Reduce your forum width to 92-94%.

FORUMS:
thread rating graphics should always be stars or something resembling an AWARD. Your boxes do not serve that purpose justice.
The white border on your drop down menus... kinda suck.
Your post icons need to hit the Photoshop, or the Fireworks MX. With splotchy design like that, I wouldn't even submitted my forum for review.

All the other stuff:
I'm getting a vBulletin message and I'm not about to give out even one of my weak email addresses to a dead forum just to review it. But on that skin, there is NO PLACE WHATSOEVER FOR #FFFFFF.
So take your ass into your CCS and replace all instances of FFFFFF with CCCCCC.
