Hi there,

http://www.footie-fans.co.uk

A few members have commented on the design looking somewhat 'plain' and 'boring. Anyone got any ideas to modify it to make it more appealing? - or if you can recommend another skin then that would be brilliant.

Any other things you can think of which would improve the site would also be appreciated. The actual site has only been online for two days (database is a month old though)

Ratings out of 10 please? :nervous:

So many links in your navbar. @___@ It looks quite un-organised to me. I think you need a better way to put all those extra hack-based links on your forumhome. =/

Can't comment much on your skin as it is a pre-made one.

- The idea of having so many links in your navbar isn't to appealing to the eye and creates an extra line making the user have to scroll just that much more.

- The colors should perhaps be changed and the style could be a little more unique

- Your header seems to be simply a picture from google ro something that has been gone over with a blue paintbrush at a small opacity.

- You could get a new header that includes some of your navigation

I do web design myself so PM me for more details

The overall design is clean but it could be improved.

the first thing I see is a LOT OF TEXT -- very small text very small text very small text ... the only thing that is readable is your shoutbox -- good size
Increase the font size
Replace the header image -- add some color (vibrant colors would liven up the site)
PORTAL - Why have a top and side navigation? It's a waste of valuable space.
another header navigation that is cluttered :dead:
the left column navigation is cluttered and it looks like plain text (not underlined while active links elsewhere are)
PORTAL - Why have 2 LOG IN sections? It's a waste of valuable space. ;)
another thing that I really hate ... on your Latest Forum Topics, why have "last post by", "today ??? AM/PM", "replies", and/or "views"?
I recommend just an icon, title, and "posted by" -- everything else just hurts SEO.

gio~logist, this is not supposed to come across as offense but please, please, stop plugging your "services" to do web design in forum commenting threads. This forum isn't for people to come, critisise a forum and then offer their paid services to fix it. That's now the way it works. If you want to offer your services, it's by replying to requests in the Service Requests forum, and not in forum commenting threads.

Thank you.
