Write an installer to install phrases and settings

I've completed a plugin that requires 20 new setting variables be added and 42 new phrases. Needless to say, doing that manually would be a pain in the neck. Anyone have a guide to writing an installer file that will automate this last process?

Hmm for 3.0 i would say use HIS, not sure if it will worjk on 3.5

I would suggest you check out the code that vBulletin uses to add/remove phraseas and settings, and then create your own files, and copy/paste the code you found and modify it to fit your needs..

HIS = what may I ask-
Same boat here, need to add new group phrases, template groups etc.

And about HIS... It makes a very messy code.. It would be much better to create an own installer by manually writing it out... It's not that hard.

Go ahead and grab the installer I slapped together for userpages. That will get you started.
