It's edit own. Moderate is that others can edit it.

awesome hack! ... first thing that cam to my mind was: 'finally something to addon to the existing awesoem vbulletin forums that will help 'keep' those members that seem to be migrating to the personal page communities such as MYSPACE.com and others...

with this addon, we can give our members this alternative as well that makes those personal page communities so attractive... speaking of what makes those attractive, how about the ability to link personal pages based on who your BUDDIES are?? the buddy system is already in place in the existing VB, how about this addon communicating with that so in your page you can see your buddies (and their avatars) as well..

No. In the top of userpage.php, you see a list of commented variables that you can change. Things like the forumid, number of shouts per page, etc.

Nope, as number 2. I don't see how that would make a difference, anyway, since this is based off of usergroup permissions and not user permissions. Or did I miss something?

The phrases didn't install to the language you are using. Go to the phrase manager and copy them over.

Also, make sure to update the bitfields or the edits won't stick.

Amy, the userpage.php is showing up as an unknown location in the Who's Online. I tried entering it into the add custom locations in the admin cp mod, but it still shows as unknown. The link has /boards/ (on my site) before it. Any fix for that? )

As posted earlier in the thread, you edit userpage.php. The forumid is set at the top of the file.

Sure you can! Install it, then let the rest of us know if it is compatible. Thats how a lot of these have been determined. Since it doesn't say RC2 compatible yet, give it a go and see if it is the way it is written now. I have installed some of Amy's work, and though it didn't say it was RC2, it was RC2 compatible. You need to run it to find out. Let the rest of us know after you do.

I've been trying to install this mod for a while now, and still haven't had any success.

When I go to my usergroups to modify user permissions, my options aren't visiable for the section that refers to userpages.

I believe this has had something to do with my rebuilding the bitfields after uploading bitfield_userpage.xml

whenever I rebuild my bitfield my browser goes to a version of my control panel with only one frame (i'm not sure if that did the trick or what, guess i was expecting to see the word done or something).

In addition, when I try to upload the xml file in my plug in manager, I get the message."Invalid File Specified"

can I get some help from somebody.

3. Rebuilding the bitfields behaves as described. Blame Jelsoft for that loopy behavior and the fact that it is necessary at all ;) In the product release, it won't be necessary.

i've done that, a couple of times, saved a couple of phrases (gone to phrase manager, opened several phrases and saved them.

The template edits and new templates are in the install file. Just read them from in there :)

thecool, pm me admin info and let me make sure something's not missing. It's sounding more and more like you didn't run the install script given that you are missing tables and phrases.

I ran the install script and saved the phrases for him. It's working now. He just needs to upload userpage.php to his forum directory.

it just didnt work for me. i had that problem with deleting user pages... i uninstalled it and then found the solution. when i tried to re-install, the phrase table had some duplicate key which i couldnt get rid of, simply because i didnt know what it was. could have been a great plugin for my site.

is there a way I can edit it so that the code doesn't appear and that the full url to the page is added?
I also get the unknown location problem in the WOL box.
On the deletion confirmation screen (which it doesn't allow me to do) it shows the footer and header twice.

I think it'd be handy to be able to disable shouts and/or allow users to disable shouts on their page.
Another idea I think would be useful is to add a row on the memberlist section to show if they have a userpage and maybe a link to it if they do.
Also to add a link to it in their profile.

I have a suggestion that will help improve search engine optimization. Currently the <title> tags must be edited within the php file itself and when doing this you also edit the navbar as well. This makes it difficult for me to place important keywords within the title of the page and be more descriptive as well as to what the user is going to see on this page.

Just a thought, would make this hack a lot cleaner in my opinion.

I have also edited the templates some to clean them up for me personally. If anyone is interested let me know.

I think I have found a annoying bug as well with the editor :)

When I press enter to put a space between a group of text it does not save this return when I go back to edit it

I will be donating once I make sure this hack is going to be used by me. If it can be put into my site and most of the features I want into it then I see no reason why it can not be used. I got everything installed, but when I try and post something on the userpage I'm getting an SQL error.

Database error in vBulletin 3.5.0 Release Candidate 3:

It looks like the installer didn't do many of the queries. I tried installing the table manually with the info from the installuserpage.php file but I couldn't get it work. I tried this.

I don't know what this error means, but I uninstalled a hack recently and it shut my forum down too. So I reinstalled it and the forum is running fine again. I have just removed the link to the hack until I can work out how to uninstall it without breaking the forum db.

I think you need to change this:

to this:

Dropping the usergroup table is not really a very good idea. ;)

I don't understand why you don't use the products manager for this hack. Your install script does exacly what the products manager does, and it a default feature now in vBulletin, so it would make more sense to use it, don't cha think?

Admincp -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> vBulletin Default (or whatever you have it as) -> (scroll to the bottom) userpage_report_message -> Take out the very top part, $stylevar[htmldoctype] (?), than edit the [ url ] http://... [ /url ]

I initially tried installing it when you first released it, but there were some problem so I gave the idea away.

Today, I decided that I really need this hack on my board and tried the upgrade, but unded up with a MySQL error about existing columns.

I just tried this on my test forum, and when I go into my usercp and click on the 'create your userpage option. I get a '/testvb/userpage.php?do=create' page cannot be found error.

Actually, scratch my request.

I have found that an increasing number of hacks don't work on my live board, but are installing fine on my default vB test board. So I am going to try and revert my live forum back to its default configuration and start with the hack installs again.

In which case I expect a fresh install of this will work with no problems, like it did on my test board.

I had this problem too Spaghie, and it turns out the plugin wasn't installing correctly. Delete and reinstall according to the instructions in the "How To (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=82621) " section and it should show up fine for you. Hope that helps :)

How do you get the link to only show up for members who actually have a page?

How do you get the link to only show up for members who actually have a page?

If they don't have a page and you click on the link it says "This user has not yet created a personal page"

I just tried this on my test forum, and when I go into my usercp and click on the 'create your userpage option. I get a '/testvb/userpage.php?do=create' page cannot be found error.

I have a feeling it's someting simple, just not sure where to look?

Anyone have any idea why I'm getting this error?

Is there any way to make this operate externally? Meaning, using VB obviously but having it actually create an external page so that it appears in actual .html or .php pages? So in other words... lol confusing as this may sound.. I love this idea, but it doesn't really have to much customization as far as being seperate from VB, not having everything else such as the forums and so forth cluttering their small little page... Having backgrounds, videos... kinda like myspace.com ???

then i tried to get rid of it and then my forums would not work as the database table: vb_userpage i had to recreate this so my forums would work again.

would it be possible to access user custom pages as this:

It would be AWESOME, willing to pay if so.

For users who have installed VBSEO, here are the rewrite rules I have used in the vbseo control panel (the htaccess included with this mod did not work when included with the htaccess mod provided by VBSEO)

'^userpage\.php\?do=list' => 'user-personal-pages.html'
'^userpage\.php\?do=main&userid=(\d+)$' => 'user-page-for-user$1.html'

This will allow the forum member to access thier page by thier user number. If someone can get this to work by replacing the user number with the users name, that would be great.

Furthermore, I presume these rewrites could be done in the htaccess file of a board without VBSEO. Please let me know how it works if you try it.

I do not know if this is right but on a members profile it has the link but next to it says 'Unknown Location' then the link to the userpage. (see attachment for image)

does anyone know how to edit this to get it to say something like users page etc, or has anyone see it on there own forums??

On the usergroup theres is no text for the permissions, theres the options but no text.

1. Make sure you have userpage.php in the root dir

2. Try userpage.php?do=edit

that was it, I remember moving that file over, but I must have put it in the wrong directory or something.

I'm able to construct my page now, but it seems the more content I add, the bigger the space between the 'delete this page' and the actual page content gets.

See the attachment to what I'm talking about. The more I add to the page, the wider that space gets. How do I stop it from doing that?

2. The text for this add-on is missing (see .gif)... Yes, I have read through the 491 posts, but I still don't know how to fix these 2 problems. Also I can not test it till... I can give myself permission to use it... LOL (you do not have permission to access this page). The parts that are working appears to be working good!

But... I have run the "index.php?do=buildbitfields", several times and it did not fix the problem, any suggestions?
