As there has been some problems with various bots and scripts that report data from an irc server to the forums i decided to write my own specifically to solve the compatability problem that most have with unreal ircd. Anyway, this contains the files that i have used to create a working solution for my forums home page its currently using a vbadvanced modual, however i have plans to expand this allowing it to be placed on the forumlist page. You can also use the data saved by the bot in other applications.
This hack requires no database changes and no changes to vb files. however you need to know how to add a modual to vBa CMPS. It also requires two templates to be added.
This has only been tested on my own forum setup, we also run the irc server that it was tested on which like the forum has been customised drastically. As such i cannot garuntee performance of this script.
I would recormend only fairly confident users instal this hack since it requires knowledge of irc and familirarity with a linux command line to use. It may also totally fail to do anything on a windows system...
Included in the zip is:
phpbot.php //the main file for the bot
Smartirc //base irc class on which the bot is based, includes orriginal documention, however i have modified it in order to function as intended.
ircusers.php //this is the php file that is used for the vba cpms modual
README //gives details on how to instal and use the hack
