Guests cant read threads!

Hi,

anyone willing to make it so that guests can view the forum see posted threads but cannot actually view them unless being logged in :nervous:

I was trying to figure that out as well, but wasn't sure on how to go about doing that.

Can you be more specific as to where to alter this to make happen?

admin panel > forum & mods > forum permissions

Just click a usergroup sample (Unregistered / Not Logged)

Under the section you dont want them to view the threads except thread title, click edit for that usergroup and choose..

Can view forum - Yes
Can view thread content - No
Can view others threads - Yes

How did you do that. The only thing I can do is block the whole thread and it would read 'never' on the the thread.

I just followed the steps to do this and i couldn't find "Can view thread content - No". Why is that?

You are using vBulletin 3.5?

No, I'm sorry. I'm using 3.0.7

vBulletin 3.0.X does not have this Option.

Not really ... Members who just join to read are not worth much IMHO, as they don't contribute, eg. keep the Forums active.
Better less members that post, then half a ton of members that say nothing :)

I wasnt concerned about spiders at this time, thus since purchasing vbseo i let all content open to everybody as well as spiders.In retrospect this would increase the userbase more as it gives the average JOE who would have not signed up, somthing to read , then giving you +1 number on forum.
