3.5 b2 is not stable and not supported.
I have a brand new, ready to get published forum
with some hacks, and have to make a decision:

1. To publish it now in 3.0.7 with its hacks,
and wait for new hooks (if at all#1) to support these hacks (if at all#2) + ImpEx...

2. Wait for the gold + new hooks + new hacks. Not sure if and when.
(Remember that it?s THREE dependent arguments!!!)

3. To compromise, but for me it?s the lesser of two evils:

a. Use the vBulletin 3.5.0 Beta 2
b.Then, install the hacks, (uCash & it?s paypal addon) and make some fixing.
c. Until I finish with the new installation and modifications, Beta 3 will be
released (Its now in a preview mode on vB.com)
d. Go live, and use the patches when they released.

I know it?s not an easy decision, but I second this compromising option.
What would YOU do? (forum has not yet published)

I would start with 3.0.7 if those hacks are imported for your forum. If not, then i would start with 3.5

I take it as you mean you would use the 3.5 only WITHOUT hacks, right?

Depends on your ability to code.

If you depend on others to port hacks, then launch with 3.0.7 now so you can get started with building your community, when 3.5 is gold and the mods you need are ported then start looking into upgrading to vB 3.5

On the other hand if you can code php well then you would probbly make the jump to 3.5 beta now, you just need to be prepaired to work with something that will need to be updated often as it is in the beta stage.

Yes, that sums it up nicely. Some hacks will not be ported until 3.5 Gold. It could take months from now for 3.5 to become Gold and most hacks are rewritten for 3.5.

So if your site really need those hacks, start with 3.0.7 because it can be a long time before you have those hacks on a 3.5
