Hi folks,

We just opened our place up. It's coded around the core vBulletin package but as you'll see we've added quite a bit. Also created a custom style and several detailed template modifications.

The basic focus of the site are contests. Contests for photo manipulation, digital illustration and photography. We also have a gallery area for members to simply post image galleries. A custom Tutorial section which I'm trying to load up with some decent, unusual Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and other software tutorials. (And of course we have the v3 arcade for minor diversions.)

The site is built around the vBulletin 3.0.3 core with the addition of Photopost and a couple custom coded sections. More integration between these modules is planned.

Come by and check us out at www.pixeladdiction.com

Any comments or critiques are welcome.

Thanks!
Scott

A very interesting forumhome design.

But I'm afraid you'll need to stand out alot more. With the hundreds of image communities, your forum offers nothing more than those other image sites are offering. Have a style that stands out alot more. For example, making the header image more exciting.

But that's only my opinion. You seem to have a decent amount of active users.

I understand what your'e saying, Tony. Thing is.. it's not our site that we want to be the most prominent. We wish to feature users more, therefore the basic site design shouldn't be too loud and flashy. In my opinion that's the problem with most of the fly-by-night image sites.... they are black or dark and have far too much focus on the site itself. We want users to feel that they make the site.

The table with "Buy Credits | Past Contests | Hall Of Fame" is a bit too long compared to the others.

I like the scheme though, soft on the eyes.

I'm not saying to make a really flashy image-filled style, you can still have simple and effective styles. Possibly, your style isn't as effective as it could be.
