Change Username via UserCP (Template Mod Style!)
Author: ffdcsite (Original creator Scott MacVicar)
Description: This allows your users to change their username via their UserCP. They have to option to change it after they get a number of posts (Which is changeable in the script)
Coming Soon:
Log of users changing their username
Thread made in special forum when user changed their name (Type of Log)
Can only change their username once

I am confused.
If source code is done through php include start/stop and additional .php files, it is still considered a template mod?

Yes, I remember SaintDog saying as long as you don't modify any files, you can do what ever you want (Even run queries)

can you make it so they can only change it every XX days after they have XX posts ??

Its just a matter of adding a condition to either the PHP or where youd change it ;)

It is more than a template mod, but it does not edit any vB files so its ok :)
